I cross this bridge a lot; it's the one from Milford, New Jersey to Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania. There is a more direct route to PA via the Frenchtown bridge, but that bridge is under construction (possibly until the 12th of Never). So I take this detour that adds about 20 minutes to my trips but it also gives me time to really look at the bridge and think about what I'm seeing.
Blogging isn’t always easy. Some days the words come slow, and the doubts come fast. But what I’ve missed most isn’t just the writing—it’s you. The people. The connections. The quiet encouragements and the kind messages from those who reached out to say they were thinking of me, and even missed me.
It’s amazing how much a simple “you were missed” can do. So I offer a big thank you. A little encouragement truly does go a long way—and here I am, back at the keyboard.
See you in the comments. Let’s pick up where we left off.
Welcome back! It is so good to hear from you again - you were definitely missed. That sure is a pretty bridge.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back indeed! The community I have found through blogging has become so very necessary! The past two mornings I have pulled on a sweater to head out the door to walk Frankie in the early morning quiet... and have savored doing so! A tiny reminder that these long hot days are not here forever! Why, I even turned the oven on yesterday!!
ReplyDeleteI have missed your updates and have been thinking of you. I hope the frustration is in the past now. I suppose if you have to take a detour that adds time to your trip, it's nice that it's a pretty one!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Bonny. I don't always comment, but I always read your posts. I can't believe you got photo's of the bridge with so little traffic. I hope all is well with you. I'm dealing with a medical curve ball (or maybe it's a fast ball) myself. So I can appreciate the need to retreat a bit.
ReplyDeleteHello, Friend! I am glad you decided to come back. You may doubt your posts, but I like all of them, even when you think the subject matter is not interesting. I always find you interesting, Bonny. I find myself going the long way on purpose a lot these days, slowing down and appreciating the scenery without so much traffic angst. Your pictures are very good, such a clear day! I have another Dr. appointment tomorrow, and I am hoping it is my last for a while. I hope you are having the same experience. Of course, I have to see the eye doctor later this week, and then Boomer has to have a dental appointment since he is losing some teeth. Old dogs and old ladies have to endure too much maintenance!
ReplyDeleteyay you are back! You can write about anything and I find it interesting :)
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous photos of your bridge, Bonny! I love a good reflection shot . . .
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a nice little blog-break. I think it's really important to take nice, refreshing times away from blogging -- even if we (generally) like doing it . . . sometimes we just need a rest. Welcome back. XO
What a pretty bridge!
ReplyDeleteI have to remind myself often that my blog is supposed to represent my life and not how I've re-arranged my life to fit my blog. Life does get in the way of interesting posts from time to time, especially when there are things going on that I'm not too keen to share. Last summer I had a medical issue that kept my right arm immobile after minor surgery for two whole weeks that I didn't want to worry my kids with. Since they read my blog I had to hide that fact by pre-blogging up lots of content. I did it so well that even I can't figure out when it all happened just by looking at what I wrote.
You've written some wise words here, ones that I will remind myself of in the future. You've reached the height of pre-writing if you managed to keep your kids from worrying and even you can't figure it out now!
DeleteThat bridge is stunning! I'm glad you're back, I missed you.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very pretty detour and bridge. Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Suzanne!
DeleteWelcome back. I missed your voice. your view(s). and Hitchhikers. Bonny, I still haven't knitted one!
ReplyDeleteI missed you. Each time I cruised through the blogs, I stopped by just in case. Bridges fascinate me and although this one takes you out of your way it is beautiful. Welcome back. I hope you are feeling like yourself. Life does throw a few curve balls now and again.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back. The bridge is well worth the detour. Look at that view. The detour can be preferable to the main road as we see how nice a slower path might be. Life's been throwing a few challenges my way so I'm glad to hear you've taken time for a break and feel ready to go again.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Bonny! What a gorgeous photo of the bridge and the river! My dad always advisedWis us to relax take the detour because it is probably more scenic and relaxing. He also advised us to calm down and wait with wonder when stopped for a train. He thought being in a hurry took our attention away from the things that bring us true joy in life. Wishing you well!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Debbie! I'm coming to appreciate that bridge more and more every time I cross it. Your father was a wise man!
DeleteI love those bridges. We use the Stockton one quite often.
ReplyDeleteHope the tests are all good. This getting older seems to be one thing after another, doesn't it?
