I'm Brave!

I'm not sure that's true, but I was brave enough to get my flu and covid shots at the same time last week. I was admiring all the cute stickers that CVS had for kids, and the pharmacist gave me a bunch of them.

So if a turtle, unicorn, owl, and narwhal have all documented my bravery, then maybe I really am.

If I was really brave I would get my pneumonia, RSV, and shingles shots, but I think I'll be brave for those shots another day.

  1. Hm, I did not get any stickers from them...Maybe I aged out? I did get some last year! I love how creative they are for vaccines.

  2. Fletch and I did not get stickers either! Just so you know, I had no reactions to any shots (Covid, Flu, RSV, Shingles, Pneumonia)...I also only got one at a time. We still need to get the Tdap which I heard can be painful, but I'm optimistic! And...better safe with a new baby coming soon.

  3. Lucky! We did not get any stickers this year, even though we got flu and COVID shots at the same time (our CVS was a bit crazy when we got them, though, so it may be that they were there but the pharmacist was so focused on the shots that she forgot about them).

  4. Good for you! I have my annual physical in two weeks and I'll be getting my flu shot that day but I'm only brave enough to do one shot at a time!

  5. I always knew you were brave, Bonny! I get as many shots at one time as I can. I am obsessive about following the vaccine schedule for folks my age, and I am due my Covid Booster and flu shot, then I need to get my Tdap and Twinrx. Hopefully after that, I will be up to date until they revise the schedule again. You know, I think everyone who gets vaccines these days needs a sticker and a sweet!

  6. When I got my vaccines last week CVS was giving out bags of white cheddar popcorn!

    1. That sounds pretty good! maybe if they gave out something like chocolate cake I would be more inclined to get my other vaccinations.

  7. I got my Covid and flu shot this morning, so I guess I'm brave, too! (Although not brave enough to get them in the same arm. . . ) I just got a red Walgreens bandaid. And no sticker.

  8. As of right now, I'm getting my flu shot at my next Dr appt (not sure if they have Covid or if I have to go to CVS). I could have gotten it last week but I prefer a Friday.

  9. I got a sticker but The Mister didn't because I got the flu shot at the same time and he didn't. I have to get them both at the same time because I'm such a sissy I would never go back. I work myself up into quite a fit over them because they make me so sick. I do have to confess that the 48 hours where I feel miserable is packed with much pampering. It's not all bad.

    1. I felt less than ideal but there was no pampering here, just a lot of sleeping.

  10. You are brave to get both flu and Covid shots at one time and wise to save the others for another day. I didn't have side effects from any of the others except shingles. Ouch. They weren't much fun but then neither is shingles. I'll take the side effects over the infection.
