Unraveled Wednesday

Joining Kat and friends for Unraveled Wednesday, with a bound-off  and blocked Stormy Night to Bright Light of Dawn. (Finally!)

This may be one of the favorite ones I've ever knit, but I think I've said that about almost every one I've made. It's chilly and breezy here today so I'm enjoying the lovely warmth around my neck and these colors just make me happy.

In reading, I finished The Wonder Boy of Whistle Stop. Wonder Boy was sort of a sequel to Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, which I really enjoyed, but this sequel was too non-linear and jumped around too much in time and place for me to give it more than three stars. I also finished Winter Solstice, a comfort re-read that served its purpose well. I've started A Spot of Bother, and love this quote: “The secret of contentment, George felt, lay in ignoring many things completely.” Those may be my words to live by this week.

What are you making and reading this week?

  1. That's a beautiful Hitchhiker, Bonny. It looks like it has some purple in it, and I love blue and purple together. It is chilly here today, so I need to locate some wooly things as well. I think that quote is spot on. This week I have been ignoring Mr. T's chaos and destructive activities. I can't do anything about it, I have done what I could to elect a better man. Now all I can do is wait with everyone else for it to come true. I haven't gotten much knitting done, but I am finishing up Hamnet, which I have enjoyed immensely. I remember Winter Solstice. It was a great comfort read. I hope you have a happy Wednesday and focus on ignoring some things completely!

I love that quote as well! I think those need to be our words to hold fast to until January 20th!

    1. Thank you, Debbie! The blues and purples make it my favorite (for now, anyway). It's always nice to put a face with a name, and it was especially nice to meet you, too!

  10. That Hitchhike is my favorite, too -- for now. ;-) How many have you finished now?

I'm quite enjoying that quote. I'm certainly able to content myself by ignoring the things that I'd rather not think about!

  11. I think I am going to copy that quote in bold letters. There is plenty worth ignoring this week. Like will this presidency never end?!! What a gorgeous hitchhiker. I think it might be my current favorite - such vibrant colors. I can see you smiling from here.

  13. I think that quote perfectly describes my lifestyle and attitude for the last several months. :-D (Ignoring so many things. . . ) I LOVE your newest Hitchhiker! Those colors are just magnificent. And isn't it wonderful that you have something new around your neck just as winter starts making an appearance? XO
