Joining Kat and friends for Unraveled Wednesday. Kat worked the polls yesterday and I want to give her a big round of applause along with a big thank you! I've got a nearly completed Hitchhiker to share with you.
I couldn't watch any results yesterday but woke up at 4:00 am and couldn't resist checking my phone. I can't not watch this morning but since I also saw a mouse at 4:00 am I will be taking a break from knitting, breathing, hoping, and worrying to walk down to the hardware store for some traps. Thanks for the diversion, little mouse!
I haven't read anything since last week but hopefully, things will settle down in the next couple of days and I'll be able to settle down enough to read. I have Anxious People and The Mill on the Floss ready when I'm better able to concentrate.
What are you making and reading this week?
Ugh - a mouse. Still doing the round and round on my pullover body but I may have cast on a hat to distract me yesterday
ReplyDeleteHello, Bonny! Glad to see you here this morning, wasn't sure you'd want to engage. I didn't watch any returns last night, I finished The Queen's Gambit, as I had planned. Then a friend started texting me about the election, and I told her I didn't want to discuss it. Best laid plans, foiled again! I am working on getting a cardigan started, just started The Searcher by Tana French. No matter how this goes, it is OVAH, and I am determined to keep my equanimity no matter how it goes. I guess I will have to look at some returns sometime today, but I do know enough to know that everything is still in progress, so what's the point? I hope you have a good day, and finish that Hitchhiker! It's gorgeous. Kudos to Kat and everyone else who is working hard in this election. Happy Hunting!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Hitchhiker Bonny! Such lovely colors in that one. I stayed away from the TV too (and I am still). Eeekkkk! A mouse!!
ReplyDeleteNo TV for us either! We're watching Succession right now. And here's to getting that mouse!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous hitchhiker! What's the yarn? Sorry if you've posted that previously, new here...
ReplyDeleteThank you! The yarn is a Wollmeise roll in am kalten Polar. Sadly, Wollmeise is no longer dyeing these sock blanks, but you could probably do a similar gradient with mini-skeins, another dyer's yarn (knitcircus?) or dye your own.
DeleteWow, that Hitchhiker! Stunning!
ReplyDeleteSeem like Anxious People is very apropos reading for right now. It's about us, right? ;-)
eek a mouse! I am checking not checking, breathing deeply! your hitchhiker is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThe mice have been active at our house, too, lately and traps have been set. I was glued to the returns last night and ended the night in tears. I should know better!
ReplyDeleteIt's the time of year the wee little pest decide it's cold outside! I hope you had beautiful weather for your walk. We've been enjoying some unseasonably warm days but a change is coming. I'm hoping for snow. May we prevail, but if not, may we pull together and find strength!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely hitchhiker, Bonny. Those colors are stunning! Any diversion is a good diversion right about now . . . although mice in the house are never fun. We have a lovely day here -- sunny and warmish. It's good to be reminded that the sun still shines. XO
ReplyDeletethat hitchhiker is just gorgeous, Bonny! Send in the diversions...even in the form of mice! Happy Wednesday...more than halfway through to Friday! :)
ReplyDeleteIm just waiting for a lil mouse to get in the house and the cats to have a blast hunting it.
ReplyDeleteI'm knitting a shawl and Im not giving up!
I'm reading blogs! I am listening to a sleep app. before bed. The lady's voice just slows your mind down. relax into sleep medication 10/23. I asked Fireman if it helped him, this morning. HE laughed and said he forgot about it, and fell asleep during it. Well...that's a testimonial.
Such a beautiful hitchhiker. I bet it was fun to watch those colors come off that sock blank. We had a couple of mice in the garage but so far none in the house. Knock on wood. They are so little but I always wonder what fleas or other diseases they are carrying. Plus they do quite a bit of damage in a kitchen. I checked returns once early last night and then again this a.m. Just sitting tight and knitting.
