Unraveled Wednesday

Joining Kat and friends for Unraveled Wednesday.

I've been feeling a bit unraveled lately, but as wise Becky commented, "that just means more knitting for stress reduction, right?". I have been making a concerted effort to knit more, even if it's just a few rows here and there. I don't know if it has resulted in much progress on projects, but it has resulted in less stress. So my Match & Move and my sister's socks continue slowly but steadily.

I finished A Mind at Play, which I found sadly disappointing, and The Feather Thief, which I thought was quirky, fascinating, and wonderful. I've been on hold for Autumn and Winter by Ali Smith, but after Carole wrote about Winter yesterday, and after seeing how any of you loved it, I gave in and purchased Autumn. I keep mistakenly calling it Fall, but so far it's an incredible book no matter what you call it.

What are you making and reading this week?

  2. Ali Smith is BRILLIANT. She writes books to chew on, that's for sure! (And knitting gets us through the tough stuff. Every time.) XOXO

  6. I'm surprised you've had any time to knit!! Both the sock and your Match & Move look fabulous. I'm on Overdrive hold for The Feather Thief (or I recommended they purchase...I can't remember which - lol).

  7. I still have On the Spice Market on my needles and am about half way through, but I haven't knit a stitch in the past week! I'm about 3/4 of the way through reading Love & Ruin and while parts are beautifully written, my feelings about the book are mixed. Your knitting is looking good! I hope you enjoy the Ali Smith books as much as I did!

  8. Ali has captured my admiration with her Season series and I think you'll like them, too! I'm trying to knit more, too. So often I find other distraction more enticing (or plain distracting), but it's time to pay knitting its due. Match and Move looks lovely!

  9. Knit, knit, knit my friend! I've got to put the Ali Smith books on my list. (I did look but wasn't sure...) Knitting another sunny baby blanket for a baby due June 6 that was born yesterday! And listening to The Time Traveler's Wife. So far so good with that story!

  11. I am flattered that you think me wise, but like most folks, I often wish I would follow my own advice! Your knitting is looking good, Bonny. I am very impressed that you are managing to work in some knitting. My knitting is nonexistent these days. You have convinced me I should look for this Ali Smith series. It sounds as if it might be my new immersive read. Carry on, Bonny, you are doing so well!

  12. Feeling unravelled is awful. I hope that passes soon. YES knit more! Stress less. Sometimes I have to remind myself to knit slower as I start dropping stitches etc when I am not relaxed.

    1. More knitting is a very good thing, along with paying attention so you don't end up with those pesky dropped stitches!
