Friday Letters: 4/15/22

Today I'm taking my virtual fountain pen in hand to wonder about a few things, and express my mower preference. Let's open the mail ...

Dear Twisted Ink,

Your directions were intriguing so I tried to Enter through the Exit. The only door marked Exit was locked from the outside during business hours, with its own sign marked "Exit Only". You may be making custom apparel EASY but entering the building seems HARD

Dear Justin,

You've been telling me for several years that I really need to get a zero-turn mower as they are much easier to mow with (and lots of fun). If you are thinking about getting me one for my birthday, this is the one I would like. Maybe "BAD MAMA" would be better than "BAD BOY", but I'm sure they could change the personalization. I think this would add a lot to my reputation around the neighborhood!

====

Dear Neighbor,

I hesitate to say anything, but I'm a bit ashamed at the paucity of your Easter decorations. Yes, the eggs on all of your trees and bushes are nice, and so are all the pots with extra Easter trees and rabbits, but surely you could have found a way to drape a few more strings of Easter lights on the porch railings, or included a loud audio version of "Here Comes Peter Cottontail" blasting from the large Easter Bunny. I do appreciate your decorating efforts, but hopefully, you can do a bit more for Memorial Day.

====

I wish you a lovely weekend with an easy way to enter whatever you're trying to get into, a mower that makes mowing more fun, and decorations (Easter or not) that make you happy. I hope you have a very nice Easter if you're celebrating, and an equally wonderful Sunday if you're not.

  3. LOL! These letters are the best (and perfect companions for my morning coffee!) That mower! I wonder if Twisted Ink might be able to custom print Bad(ass) Mom on your dream mower! Perhaps that task might even be worthy of actually opening! Haha!

    And those Easter Overload Neighbors... oy. I shudder to imagine Memorial Day! :)

  4. you have a very festive neighbor!! Around here there is nothing like that, there are a few houses that have 'some' eggs on the trees but I suspect there are children around for that. It looks nice and spring like.

  5. Oh my goodness! I always love peeking into your mailbag . . . but today's letters are divine! I think that mower would be THE BEST Mother's Day gift. EPIC, in fact. But those Easter decorations? Hoo boy. That's a lotta pastel there. . .

  6. Enter through the exit, eh? I think they might want to rethink that. Also, I'm now thinking of you roving through the whole neighborhood on your fancy new lawnmower. Look out, here comes Bad Mama Bonny!

  7. When I opened your blog and saw Friday Letters, I smiled! I love Friday letters. Today's were very enlightening, Bonny. I hope with all my heart that somebody gives you that mower; you deserve it! And you would look very badass driving it. I have a neighbor like that, decorates for everything over the top. I'm just glad I don't have to put it up and then take it down. Hope you have a great weekend, Bonny.

  8. My jaw hit the floor last summer, waiting around at our local hardware store and looking at the mowers -- some of them over $20K!! Ours doesn't even have a motor. And we're participating in "No Mow May" to help the early pollinators, so I won't even look at a mower until June!

  9. With any luck, the Easter decorations will not still be up at Memorial Day.

    In Orlando our neighbor had Christmas Homer out until a wind storm took him out in late MAY!

  10. Those Easter decorations are really a bit much, hopefully they will be gone by next week! You wouldn't need any decorations in your yard if you took care of it riding that big bad mama mower! Have a great weekend!

    1. These neighbors decorated a lot for Valentine's Day. I thought it was a one-time thing until I saw that they had also gone over the top for Easter. I can't wait to see what they do for Memorial Day!

      I think I will need to save up some money before I get my Bad Mama mower, or make sure I mow lots of other lawns with it to make enough money to pay for it!
