Sometimes Monday ...

... is a day to marvel at how fast snow peas ripen!

When I took the photo on Friday of the baby snow pea, it was one of three on three rows of vines. When we came back to MD from NJ on Sunday, there was a whole meal's worth! I picked, ate, and enjoyed them, and it looks like there will be plenty more this week. John likes them cooked, but I think that the real deliciousness is in eating them raw, with their crisp crunchiness and fresh, succulent taste.

I hope your week is off to a great, green, and growing start!

  3. Yum! I like them cooked just enough that they're soft but still have a crunch to them. Enjoy!

  4. I'm bummed I can't make it to the garden to pick peas this year. I need to get Smith to do some harvesting and bring me a bunch. We grow Japanese snow peas and a flat Japanese variety. I love eating them, pod and all! Your crop looks so tasty!

  13. Wow, your garden is beautifully green and growing. My snow peas have come and gone - I goofed this year and didn't put them in a row but in a bunch, totally difficult to find!
