Live Frogs and Dead Birds

When I was in college, I had this poster on my wall. It didn't really say anything about procrastination or tackling the tough jobs to me. My roommate and I just thought it was funny, and used to hide gummy frogs in our room for each other.

Now I have an addendum: Step on a dead bird that your neighbors' cat left on your porch, and hopefully nothing worse will happen to you for the rest of the day, but you will hear the crunch of the bones all day, and feel sightly queasy every time you think about it. (I'll spare you any photos.)

Ugh, I don't even have a cat!
======================

Thank you very much for all your good thoughts and prayers for my MiL. She took a turn for the worse yesterday and has now slipped into a coma, but I greatly appreciate all your support and kindness.

  3. Oh, I'm sorry to hear the news about your MIL. And the dead bird, too. On the positive side, if your neighbor's cat left it for you that means she likes you.

  4. Sorry about your mother-in-law Bonny. Continuing prayers for her. And yuck to stepping on a dead bird, but agreeing with Carole - you are liked by your neighbor's cat (for what it's worth). That poster is great!!

  11. It's very hard to remember that the bird is a gift, but it is. I am not a cat person, but if they bring you gifts, they must like you. I have missed most of your posts lately, but I am sending all good wishes for your MIL and your family. My husband is in the hospital, and it is difficult to keep up when you are practically living there! I have high hopes he will be home next week. And I hope things for your MIL turn out in the best way considering the circumstances.

  14. Ugh .........present or not ........not nice to step on. We had a neighborhood cat that liked to puke up his FOOD on our porch. If a dead bird is a present, I'm not quite sure what puke means. Maybe I don't want to know. ;-)

    Wishing you strength as you deal with your Mother-In-Law's health and good wishes for your MIL and for good care for her.
