Unraveled Wednesday: 11/4/26

I’m happy to join Kat and the Unravelers today with more Fire on the Mountain.

That's the name of this STR colorway and I'm enjoying working on it.

But I also made myself work some more on the last dishtowel. It's proving to be just what I was afraid of, sloggier and sloggier. I've tried rewarding myself every eight rows with a Hershey's kiss, but I'm afraid the rewards are going to have to get bigger. A peanut butter cup? A grilled cheese sandwich? A scoop of ice cream with chocolate sauce and peanuts? Time will tell ...

What are you making this Wednesday in early November?

  1. Fire on the mountain? That's a great name for the yarn and HH. Perhaps the dishtowel should be put away for a while, Bonny. I am making watercolor assignments, but I don't know how long that will last. Actually, I am making a very small celebration of one at my house, and you know why!

  2. Fire on the Mountain is knitting up beautifully in your Hitchhiker! I always thought that colorway was a bit too busy for socks, but it's perfection in your shawl. You have my permission to take a break from the dishtowel if it's too much of a slog, even with the chocolate rewards. You've already knit quite a lot of them! I've got half a sleeve left on my sweater, but I finished up a scrappy charity hat last night while watching election returns and started another. This new one is three strands of fingering held together, so I expect it to go quickly!

  3. Fire On the Mountain... what a fantastic name! And, even better, what a gorgeous Hitchhiker! I think that the best reward for that dishtowel will be the joy of hanging it in the kitchen and appreciating each and every stitch that went into it! XO

  4. Fire on the Mountain is gorgeous (great name too). That's a lovely color for your dishtowel and I give you credit for even starting another after you've completed so many! I would probably be throwing in the towel by this point (sorry...).
