I’m happy to join Kat and the Unravelers today with a Hitchhiker in progress.
I know I said something about maybe knitting at the wedding, but I didn't knit a stitch, even during the rehearsal or rehearsal dinner. It was quite chilly and while I thought I was dressed for the weather, I did spend a lot of time around the fire pit. Young men (and older ones also) can't seem to leave a fire alone, so there always seemed to be embers flying after they tried to get it burning better. A hole burned in my last precious STR yarn was not what I wanted as a remembrance of the wedding.
I've also got a second dish towel cast on for Jess for Christmas, but I may currently be dish-toweled out. I did get my skeins of Purl Soho Japanese Denim Cotton out of the stash in case I felt the urge to cast on for a Saltwater Bandana, but that hasn't happened just yet.
What are you making this final Wednesday in October?

I don't blame you for not wanting a Hitchhiker set on fire! Those colors, though, are perfect fall colors. I predict some Hitchhiker-ing for a while might make you ready to go back to dishtowel knitting. This week I'm working on finishing up my sweater (one sleeve to go!) and churning out some charity hats.
ReplyDeleteI love this latest Hitchhiker Bonny! The colors are just gorgeous! Is there anything as satisfying as Hitchhiker knitting? I think not! (although that Indigo yarn is lovely!)
ReplyDeleteI love your latest Hitchhiker, Bonny. It's spectacular! And I love spending time around a fire . . . what a perfect touch for a wedding celebration! XO
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous Hitchhiker! And (in my book), nothing beats hanging around a fire pit on a chilly evening. Also - I didn't have time to comment, but really enjoyed your wedding pictures yesterday. Looks like everyone had such a good time!
ReplyDeleteI love that yarn, Bonny. How long has that been languishing in your stash? I bet you will feel much more like knitting after Nov 3rd. It's a bit tense around here, yes? I have been making watercolors, yes watercolors. I am taking a class, and I am having so much fun. It creates a flow for me, and I really need that now. You have plenty of time to knit another dishcloth.
