Unraveled Wednesday: 6/3/26

I’m happy to join Kat and the Unravelers today with a completed barn owl in duplicate stitching.

I've been sitting outside in the shade in the afternoon and stitching. This has worked well because I've got plenty of natural light to make stitching easier. It's also been really beautiful so I'm enjoying my time stitching outdoors. You can see a little bit of brown and gray to the right of the owl; those stitches mark the beginning of the ear of the next animal, a wolf.

I'm still knitting dishcloths as a no-stress break from stitching, but I don't think you need to see a photo of a couple of dishcloths. They are definitely not too exciting, but I do have an idea for a different, small, non-stressful bit of knitting. I'll try to cast that on this week and see what my idea looks like.

What are you making this first Wednesday in June?

  1. Not doing much crafting, or reading, or anything other than trying to get this house renovation finished for my stepson, helping Wink get settled into a routine, and enjoying some dry weather here. We really needed rain, but we have had so much that I am enjoying some sunshine. The rain has created a lot of yardwork that must be done at two houses, so I have a full to-do list. I am so glad you are able to enjoy the weather while stitching! Sounds like a lovely afternoon. That hat is looking fabulous, Bonny, really. I am impressed with your stitching. Hope yo have a lovely day today.

  2. Great job on the Barn Owl Bonny! That hat is just too fun!! I'm curious to see/read about a possible new project. I'm nearing the end of my second polo sock and am ready to cast on for something new. Hoping to swatch for my Shakerag soon!

  3. If you're having the same sort of weather we are, it's perfect for sitting in the shade and stitching. That won't be the case for long, so I hope you get a lot done before it becomes too sticky to stand dealing with wool! I'm nearly done with my baby pants (about half a leg to go) and have been knitting a pretty boring charity hat. I've got to think about what to start next because I'll soon need a new project.

  4. The weather has been amazing! I could handle an entire month of this kind of weather! (it was 48 when I got up this morning and had to wear a sweater for Frankie's early morning stroll!) Your owl is really amazing!

  5. We've had gorgeous weather, too . . . perfect for working with wool on a lovely afternoon. I LOVE the hat, Bonny. The stitching is so, so nicely done. I can't wait to see the whole thing finished -- and modeled by Justin (I hope). It's really an EPIC kind of project. (And now I'm really curious about your next non-stressful project . . . I'll just have to sit back and wait.) XO

  7. You're moving right along, Bonny, and it's looking great! Our weather has been spectacular -- I wish the whole summer could be like these past few.
