I Am Brave? (Maybe)

I got my second shingles shot this morning. Even though the pharmacy tech gave me an "I Am Brave" sticker, it remains to be seen if I really am brave or not. I felt pretty darn crappy for two days after my first shot, so we'll see how I feel tomorrow. I don't want to talk myself into feeling bad, but I've got chores done and dinner prepped for tonight and tomorrow just in case. I suppose I was a little bit brave because I did go back for my second shot!

  1. I had no effects other than a sore arm from both of my shingles vaccines and I hope the same for you! Take care, Bonny!

  2. I had pretty strong reactions to both my shingles vaccines . . . BUT . . . it's so much better than getting actual shingles! So glad you were brave and went through with vax #2! XO

  4. You were brave and smart to get that second vaccine. I had a reaction to the shots but would rather tough out a reaction for a day or two than deal with shingles.

  5. Of course you were brave! With all the continual talk of vaccines causing death, destruction, and autism, I think most people feel brave when they get a vaccine these days. It's great that the pharmacist gave you positive feedback. Just feel like the sensible, forward-thinking, well-informed adult that you are. I always tell myself when I feel bad after an attenuated vaccine that my immune system is just participating in a much needed workout. Now, I am a little scared of live vaccines at my age. :)

  9. Good for you! And, yes, you are brave. Neither Fletch nor I had reactions to our Shingle shots...only happy to have gotten them. I had Shingles when I was in high school and I don't want to repeat that!

  10. I hope you feel OK! I don't remember whether I had a reaction to either shot, which is a good thing, I guess! And I'm so glad that I don't have to worry about getting shingles in the future.

  11. Yes, you are brave! All vaccines put me out of commission for days so I understand your fear. I hope your reaction is a mild one.
