Unraveled Wednesday: 2/18/26

I’m happy to join Kat and the Unravelers today with some finished objects.

I finally put thumbs on the Cozy Gusset Mittens. I thought it might be too late since we've had warm weather this week, but we're supposed to get nine inches of snow on Sunday.  That's not welcome news at all, but at least I've got finished mittens.

But better than that, I finally finished the Ansel Adams Hitchhiker. Kat has been calling it that for a while and that's how I've been thinking of it with the black, white, and gray tones.

That's not a great photo so here's a better one.

I really do love it and since next week will be cold and snowy I'll still have plenty of opportunities to wear it.

And up next: my Dream Hitchhiker, knit completely out of Road to China Light. (Wonderful yarn from a wonderful friend!) I'll be winding it tonight and casting on post haste.

I've read three books this week, so I'll put all my thoughts about them in a post on Friday (or maybe not until Monday if things don't calm down a little bit).

What are you making and reading this mid-February week?

  1. Wow, lot FO's in one post. I really love that Ansel Adams HH, and Kat did come up with the perfect name for it. Love the red mittens, but 9 inches of snow?! Bummer! I hope it is only snow, and that it melts fast. I guess you are planning those meals for next week, huh? ;) I don't think I have ever seen you wear anything maroon, but that yarn is beautiful.

  2. It's a FO extravaganza!! I love your Ansel Adams Hitchhiker! It is perfection! I am sock knitting (happily) and tucked away on the west coast of Ireland and loving every minute of it!

  3. Wonderful finishes Bonny! The Ansel Adams Hitchhiker is gorgeous and looks so good wrapped around your neck! And, yes, I saw the forecast for Sunday last night (7-9"). Luckily when I looked this morning the forecast was down to 1" - they never know anyway...I'm nearing the finish of the Family Socks and am anxious to cast on something new. Your latest yarn for another Hitchhiker is beautiful. I'll look forward to your book reviews.

  4. Beautiful finishes and just in time for the snow. We've only got rain in the forecast for Sunday which is disappointing. I don't consider all that white stuff we had snow so I think we are due at least one decent snowfall before spring.

  5. that hitchhiker goes with everything and I love the name you chose. We have the print copies of that artist. Very minimal knitting here since I'm recovering from a medical procedure last week.
