Three Days of Rain

We've had three days of rain and showers and a lot of rain before that, but that isn't all bad. We're still down more than three inches in precipitation, so any rain is good, and it has provided me with plenty of time to read and knit. It's also been great for rainbows!

Please forgive the odd angle in the photo. I was trying to get the greatest amount of arc in the picture before the rainbow started to fade.

I hope that if you've got rain in the forecast for this weekend that you might also catch sight of a rainbow.

  1. Beautiful shot! I am trying not to complain about the days on end of rain because we too are still at a deficit on precipitation! Have a great weekend!

  2. Well, I am certainly trying to be positive about the rainfall here. Positives include no need to water the flowers, cooler temps (so far), lower utility bills, no drought problems. There are positives. However, I have gotten over 35 inches of rain this year, with one day of over 14 inches, so it's been notable. We are about 10 inches over our rainfall average so far. If the sun ever comes out, the humidity will be suffocating, and the jungle growth will soon follow. Weather, it gives us all something to complain about! BTW, sadly there have been no rainbows. Great photo, Bonny.

  3. Aren't you lucky! We've had tons of rain, but I've yet to spot a rainbow. We're a little above average and are supposed to get more today and this weekend. I keep reminding myself that it's good for the garden!

  4. I haven't seen a rainbow in ages. We've also had plenty of rain lately and more on the way tonight. As long as there isn't wind it's fine by me. I won't say that when I have to scrub these muddy floors which by the looks of the forecast might be Sunday.

    1. It's actually sunny here now (Friday afternoon) but we're supposed to get another inch of rain tonight. Here's hoping that there is no wind with it for you; the ground is saturated!

  6. That's a lovely rainbow photo! We've had rain every dang Saturday for ages and it was raining when I got up this morning, too. Now the sun is out, though, and I'm taking my coffee and book and heading for my deck!

  7. We are in the middle of an isolated thunderstorm. Rain is falling while the western sky is partly cloudy. We might get a rainbow. If not, I'm awfully glad to see yours.

  8. playing catchup (please note I skipped the Nugget post after spying a SNAKE?!!!) and happy to report there might be some rain-free days headed your way. We've officially had ZERO inches this weekend (I even needed sunglasses a few times). Sorry to read that the current hitchhiker has become a slog; it's still lovely and I'm excited to see how it ends (of course I see it once a week, and there's (nearly) always progress at that pace). and !!! your next project is NOT a HH?! must admit, that excites me, too! On the reading front, I've binged almost all of Robert Macfarlane's Is a River Alive? this weekend and think you would love it. The audio is great, and I want to check out the paper copy, too. Hoping for maps ... and the chapter epigraphs are wonderful.
