Unraveled Wednesday: 4/9/25

I'm joining Kat and the Unravelers today with a little more progress on the socks.

I'm at that stage when you say (or at least I've told myself), "I'll just knit down this foot, knit the toe, and then I'll be done!" The process that I've told myself will just take a little while will, in fact, take me a little while longer. I've been knitting monogamously on the sock because I know that if I put it down to work on the Hitchhiker, I will likely never finish the socks. So I'll keep plugging along in hope that I can finish them by next week and get a good start on the Hitchhiker.

I've been busy catching up on ARCs and library books, so I finished three books this week. I do kind of go on in my reviews, so I'll review them on Friday.

What are you making and reading this week?

  1. I have my vest in Time Out currently (it went there last night, sigh) I will order yarn this morning. I wound some yarn to cast on a pair of striped socks! There is little that a good stripey sock can't fix! I am savoring Tiya Miles book about Harriet Tubman... it is full of things I did not know!

  2. I have a skein of sock yarn at the ready and I know I will not finish knitting dish cloths for Easter if I start a pair of socks!! Lovely sock yarn :)

  3. You're very close to the end on those socks, so I have no doubt they'll be done by next week. Looking forward to reading your book reviews later this week.

  5. I have been trying to catching up on ARCs lately as my reading mojo seems to want to make a return. Currently reading The Dream Hotel. I downloaded that from NG the day before it was published, so I don't know what I was thinking. Knitting in my sleep, but no knitting IRL. How weird is that? I keep hoping I will wake up one morning with an FO on my pillow.

  6. "I think I can, I think I can". And you will - I bet that last sock is finished soon and you can get back to your gorgeous Hitchhiker. I'm knitting some dishcloths since I need something mindless to work on when over at C&M's. Looking forward to your book reviews on Friday!

    1. I have the whole afternoon free after doing something to help my husband out all morning, so I hope to get even closer on those socks!

  8. You'll have those socks done in no time. I am also working on socks and I'm reading The Griffin Sisters Greatest Hits, it's quite entertaining.

  9. Yep . . . you are so close to being done with those socks, Bonny! And that is my favorite stripe combination ever. I just love it! (What is the yarn? I may have to get some and knit a pair of socks for myself. . . )

  10. Sometimes knitting on just one thing is the way to finish a project. The subtle striping colors are lovely.
