Earlier this week I posted about the pullman pan I had redicovered in my kitchen cupboard, and wondered how cinnamon swirl bread would work. This is how:
Paul Hollywood might have some less than flattering things to say about this loaf, but I don't think he's stopping by. I rolled the dough tightly and got a good swirl, but there are still a few gaps between the cinnamon-sugar and the dough. But you know what might help fill those gaps nicely? Raisins! I didn't have any when I baked this bread, but I'll make sure there are some in the pantry before I bake next week.
In the meantime I'm starting my morning wonderfully with a couple of pieces of toasted cinnamon swirl bread and a steaming mug of chai. Life is pretty good when you've baked bread!
It looks fantastic to me! Do you have a recipe you could share? I have a certain teenager who used to eat the Pepperidge Farm version half a loaf at a time.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks bakery ready, Bonny. This is a very nice presentation of cinnamon sugar swirls. I haven't made cinnamon bread in a long time, but I don't recall mine looking so nice. Your breakfast sounds wonderful. I need to make some chai now that you have mentioned it! YUM
ReplyDeleteI don't know, Bonny! That crumb looks fantastic! Your cinnamon swirl is evenly distributed and your crust is perfectly brown. And toasted, it is bread perfection! My guess is that you would get that coveted handshake!
ReplyDeleteOh, yummmmmmmmm!
ReplyDeleteWell done! I could definitely scarf down a couple of slices!
ReplyDeleteWell, I just ate lunch, but now I want some of your cinnamon bread - toasted or otherwise - I'm not that picky!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so good and I bet your house smelled amazing while it was baking. I really do want one of those pans.
ReplyDeleteThat looks so good! I was going to make the cinnamon star that they featured in the holiday edition of the baking show but the ingredients are still sitting here. Maybe this weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh, YUM! That looks fabulous, Bonny. I'd LOVE a slice . . . with or without raisins. XO
