I may have ordered a Nightshift yarn kit to KAL with Vicki. After looking at so many color combinations that they began to blur together, this is the one I kept coming back to. I threw caution to the wind and finally just clicked the "add to cart" button. Of course, I'm still wondering about how it will look when knit, but if for some reason I'm not completely enamored, it can be a Christmas gift.
I saw this mobile metal sculpture thingy on my walk the other day, but there wasn't enough wind to move it. My favorite one is on the grounds of Gettysburg College. I used to stand and watch, fascinated, every time we visited Ryan. It moved in even a small breeze and was a marvel to watch when a stiffer wind was blowing.
Lastly, I ordered a few spring/summer tops from Amazon and was a little surprised when they arrived. They were perfectly fine, and what I expected, but how would you pronounce the name on these labels?
It's a puzzlement to me!
Be sure to visit Carole for more Three on Thursday thoughts.
I think you're going to LOVE your NightShift ... such a fun knit and those colors SCREAM Bonny!!!!! to me :-)
ReplyDeleteOh these are all nice things!
ReplyDeleteI would pronounce the names on the tags as "Fred." But that's just me. ;-)
I love those colors! (and thank you for the reminder to pull together my handspun to get my Shift in order!) and I am with Brilliant Bridget... Fred seems the best choice! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the colors for your KAL
ReplyDeleteThe label: for dyslexics only?
It does look like they forgot a vowel or two! :-)
DeleteI love your Night Shift choices! That said I've already resigned myself that my colors may end up a give-away item too! And Bridget...she's got the answer! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the colors you picked for your Nightshift! I think they'll go well with a lot and make it a very versatile piece.
ReplyDeleteWhere were the tops made? That label makes me think they come from somewhere English is not the first language and someone just threw together a string of random English letters.
About those labels . . . I'd like to buy a vowel, please! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your yarn colors. I can't wait to see all these Night Shift shawls come together.
And I am a total sucker for wind sculptures! I am too cheap to buy a really GOOD one for my garden, but I do have a perfectly serviceable one I picked up at Costco a couple of years ago. It brings me great joy in all seasons. (And still freaks JoJo out when the wind is really blowing.)
Mmmm, no idea about those labels, but I'm glad your tops fit and liked. I never thought I would see the day that Bonny would divert her attentions from the Hitchhiker pattern, and I hope you enjoy this knit a lot. I had a pilot who lived over the fence from me who had a small windmill-like structure that was fascinating to watch. I'd love to have one of those wind sculptures in my yard!
ReplyDeleteOh wow. I think someone set their toddler at the typewriter and VOILA! Brand name. :)
ReplyDeleteKate strolled by last night while I was knitting Nightshift and said that it's her favorite thing that she's seen me knitting lately. High praise!! (There may be more of these in my future.) I'm really enjoying it, too! (Brand new Ravelry Group, if you're interested: https://www.ravelry.com/groups/nightshift-kal-2020)
Oooh! Your Nightshift will be gorgeous! I love that wind sculpture too. I'd love to have one in my yard. As for those tags - that's a lot of name to pronounce! I hope they have a very specific style of clothing because they'll never get found if people try to Google their name. :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm... my hubby is now puzzled by the sounds I am making in the next room as I try to pronounce "YZXDORWJ"! :)
ReplyDeleteThey do seem to be missing a vowel or two!
DeleteWell I haven't a clue as to those labels - that is a mystery. I love the wind sculptures. I see a few in my neighborhood but nothing quite as interesting as the ones you posted. And that Nightshift should be really pretty. I'll be anxious to see how it looks as you get going. I love the attitude of giving it a try and giving it as a gift if you decide you won't wear it. Go for it.
ReplyDeleteI love this good old fashioned KAL! Vicki is a great KAL leader, too. LOVE your color choices. That mobil would be fabulous and I hope you get to see it in action soon.
ReplyDeleteOh gee,, I'll go with Fred too! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe sculptures are wonderful. I used to pass a place in Vermont where an artist had a ton of them set out in the yard by the road. what fun!
Your Nightshift is going to be gorgeous Bonny! So bright and cheerful. Have fun with it!
Hooray for NightShift knitting, I think your colors are great. I really would like one of those kinetic ornaments for my garden.
ReplyDeleteThose NighShift colors are fabulous-- Ican't wait to watch these appear on the blogs.
