Maybe it felt that it couldn't compete with some of the larger, showier blooms.
But even though it's only six inches tall with small blossoms and tiny leaves, I think it's still beautiful and a fine finale.
Farewell, amaryllis, 'til next year!
Striving to be highly reasonable, even in the face of unreasonableness. Reading, knitting, and some alcohol may help.
Gorgeous! I've got 3 blooms right now and 2 new stalks coming! But - one of the stalks with 3 unopened flowers died off before they bloomed.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you still have a bloom, so hooray for the straggler. I will definitely have to order some of these next year. I have enjoyed seeing yours and Carole's so much. Have a great weekend, Bonny.
ReplyDeleteend of amaryllis time means SPRING!!!!! I need some warmer weather but at least we have sun today!
ReplyDeleteThe blossoms look like they belong on something larger, but what a show its putting on!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that last amaryllis. I have enjoyed all the blooms in your photos - living vicariously since I struggle to get bulbs to do well. Kathy is right - spring is here.
ReplyDeletewhat a show! I'm sorry to see it end ... but I guess FIVE months of blooms coming across my feed reader is pretty good!
ReplyDeleteThe stragglers are always my favorites! So unexpected -- and always magical. Lovely, Bonny! XO
