The Last One
I think my amaryllis blooms have finally reached an end. This last blossom has been growing very slowly and waiting patiently in the wings since February, almost as if it wanted to do a solo show.
Maybe it felt that it couldn't compete with some of the larger, showier blooms.
But even though it's only six inches tall with small blossoms and tiny leaves, I think it's still beautiful and a fine finale.
I can't believe you still have a bloom, so hooray for the straggler. I will definitely have to order some of these next year. I have enjoyed seeing yours and Carole's so much. Have a great weekend, Bonny.
Enjoy that last amaryllis. I have enjoyed all the blooms in your photos - living vicariously since I struggle to get bulbs to do well. Kathy is right - spring is here.
Gorgeous! I've got 3 blooms right now and 2 new stalks coming! But - one of the stalks with 3 unopened flowers died off before they bloomed.

ReplyDeletewhat a show! I'm sorry to see it end ... but I guess FIVE months of blooms coming across my feed reader is pretty good!
