Three on Thursday

Joining Kat and Carole for Three on Thursday.

John loves Chinese buffets, and when a new one opened nearby, he wanted to try it. While they're not my favorite (the food all tastes the same to me), I do enjoy the fortunes. So, today, three fortunes ...

Great! I'm happy to hear that I'm not washed up at 60!

Very true, and a good reminder.

An interesting thought to contemplate.

And a bonus fourth because I like this one:

I hope I can remember this and use it in response to the many times family members tell us how lucky we are.
We are lucky, and grateful, but it would be nice if our goals and work towards them could also be acknowledged.

I used to love watching these Mr. Rogers "How It's Made" segments with the boys:

  2. I just got a fortune cookie last night. Mine was not as inspiring, but you are right, they often are. My husband and I often talk about how lucky we have been, then we talk about the fact that our decisions and efforts have augmented that arc quite a bit. Nevertheless, luck counts, too!

    1. You're right; it takes the right combination of luck, decisions and efforts to get where you'd like to be!

  3. I don't know ... I think the "lucky" might refer to something else ... ;-)

  4. I can't help it...but you know you're supposed to add "in bed" to the end! (I'm sorry!!!) (And heck...it's pretty spot on with these!)

  5. All very good advice. I just gone one Monday night that said something about having the ability to make a new start if I worked hard & was diligent.

  7. I liked PICTURE PICTURE Time with Fred! He went to a crayola factory and I recall loving watching that one. We have a Fred Rogers quote coffee mug. Al gave it to Zach for Christmas and I use it all the time. "When we talk about our feelings they are less scary"

    1. Me, too! I kind of fell down a rabbit hole when I was searching you tube, and watched Mr. Rogers talk about how flashlights, Crayola crayons, and bulbs are made. Great mug!

  9. oh Mr Rogers! Marc and I stumbled across the show a few weeks back - I can't remember what he was looking for on TV, but we both paused and watched for a good 15 minutes...

and I have to say - your fortunes all make a lot of sense. I usually don't see wise words in the ones I get! I especially like the one about creativity.
