Amaryllis Watch
I haven't shared my amaryllis in almost a month; they were off to a slow start but now that that they've gathered their resources they've all got leaves and the very beginnings of flower stalks showing. Not particularly exciting, but they are hopeful and a reminder that all good things happen in their own good time and usually involve patience.

So nice to have blooms to look forward to! I'm glad for the reminder that patience is needed sometimes...not always easy.....
ReplyDeleteThey look full of promise! How often do you water them?
ReplyDeleteNow that they've gotten going I bet they will grow like crazy! I still haven't planted mine, I'm trying to hold off for winter, rather than Christmas, blooms.
ReplyDeleteBest advice ever...enjoy watching them bloom!
ReplyDeleteCheers~
I really like the soil covered up. They are going to be fun to watch move to blossoming
ReplyDeleteI've been debating removing the sphagnum moss so I can judge how moist the soil is more easily, but maybe I'll just leave well enough alone!
Deletewhoa, look at how much they've grown! amaryllis is a lesson in patience, and I just love the payoff. Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe moss helps keep moisture in. My figure poking through the moss usually tells the story well enough. My amaryllis are looking much like yours!
ReplyDeleteI bought mine in St. Louis and finally got them planted last week! I think we'll have something to look forward to in January... and that's just fine!
