I have been thinking about this ever since then, and decided she is absolutely right and I absolutely need to start creating my own bright spots. I've tried to think of some catchy or alliterative name to share these, but I couldn't, so they will simply be bright spots.
And who doesn't need a bright spot at the end of January?
I think they look like fireworks of flowers!
I agree that we need to create our own happy thoughts (though a challenge). I'm toying with starting another knitting project and diving into lots of good books to read.
ReplyDeleteThose are stunning and definitely bright spots. I need to capture photos of my amaryllis that's now in bloom but I'm having a hard time getting all 4 huge blossoms into one picture.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a terrible problem! I am so jealous.
DeleteYour amaryllis are absolutely spectacular! My little bit of brightness is the lovely orchid I purchased last Feb. in Florida and have nurtured to bloom again this winter. My husband teases me that this orchid came back to Florida with us. He jokes with hotel clerks that we need an orchid friendly room as we travel down south
ReplyDeleteI'm always grateful for Margene's wise thoughts and flowers blooming in the winter, so I have a soft spot for orchids also. Enjoy your blooms!
DeleteWow that is just gorgeous! That would brighten any day, anywhere. Thanks for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteOh my! Those are stunning Bonny!! Wow! Well done little Amaryllis plant!!
ReplyDelete1. That Margene is so wise! And she is exactly right -- we do need to create our own bright spots. 2. That amaryllis is just gorgeous. I love the ones with "splatters." And that red border? Oh, it is divine! 3. Definitely fireworks!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! What Margene said is very wise and is exactly how we should live. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to cultivate this habit lately just to improve my mental well-being. Margene is wise. I have been calling them "joyful moments". Your flowers certainly shout joy. My joyful moments today have been, the sun, it is gorgeous here today. And this post has been a joyful moment! Thanks, Bonny.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the sun! We've only seen it for about two hours over the last two weeks, so I know some warming rays would indeed be a bright spot for me!
DeleteSo beautiful!!! It reminds me of a colorful bow on a package!
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to find my bright spots.... one thing I've been doing, is trying to smile and talk to people when I'm out and about - something that is hard for me, as I'm on the shy side - and an introvert. But if I can make one person's day better by doing this, then it is worth it to push myself out of my comfort zone... I tried to pay for some man's drink and donut at Starbucks today, but he refused me.....

Your flowers are glorious! My amaryllis led me to purchase tulips this weekend. Gotta keep those bright spots coming!
ReplyDeleteThat is the most amazing amaryllis I have ever seen, Bonny! You made me feel very special today. Thank you for creating another bright spot for me! My red grocery store flowers feed my joy daily, but we have sun, filtered through haze, but sun nonetheless. February is going to come through with many bright spots. We just have to be receptive to their delight.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, those amaryllis!! They're gorgeous! I was reading, scrolling, thinking, "Those look like fireworks!" and, lo... great minds (if I may be so bold).
ReplyDeleteI agree, Margene is very wise. ;)
