Striving to be highly reasonable, even in the face of unreasonableness. Reading, knitting, and some alcohol may help.

Right Now - July 2015
Watching - It's all David Attenborough, all the time here. Planet Earth, The Life of Mammals, Life, The Blue Planet, I'm watching them all and loving his voice, enthusiasm, and the cinematography.
Knitting - The same old Hitchhiker. I got to 46 points and because I was paying more attention to David Attenborough, I just kept on going. I will eventually have to cast off.
Reading - For Book Bingo - The Memory Painter, The Perfect Son, and An Entirely Synthetic Fish.
Thinking about - Dinner tonight. We're having dinner with some friends I love, at a place with excellent food, but I'm pretty sure our friend Joe has some bad medical news to share. I really, really hope I'm wrong.
Dreading - My phone ringing. It seems like it's bad news far too often.
Drinking - Lots of cold mint tea.
Eating - From the garden. Snow peas, string beans, spinach, chard, radishes, Napa cabbage...
Starting - some columbines of my own from seed. I have visions of a bed full of them blooming next year.
Hoping - That the towels I hung out today will actually dry. Between the humidity and ever-present thunderstorms, it's not looking good.
Wishing - That it was easier to arrange estimates and schedule work. I'm waiting for tree guys, the driveway guys, the roofer, and the gutter guy.
Considering - a haircut. I always wear my hair up in the summer, but am wondering if I should give in and just get it cut short. The last time I did this (when we moved to FL 35 years ago) I was so unhappy that I cried, so this is certainly entering into the decision process!
Planning/Procrastinating - Porch painting. I can think of hundreds of excuses to procrastinate, but I also know that I'll enjoy the porch a lot more if I just do it and lose the guilt I feel when I sit there.
What's going on in your world right now?

You are busy! Your garden is very productive and you have so much more ready to eat than we do.
ReplyDeleteIf short hair is truly under consideration maybe you should try a mid-length change. If you hate it it's easier to grow out again.
I hope you don't get bad news about your friend's health, that's happening far too often and I hate it. I think you should post a photo of your current hairstyle and then post photos of the ones you are considering. We can help you decide! And even if you don't agree with us I find that asking others often helps me figure out what I really want. Also - get that painting done!
ReplyDeleteI hope the phone brings good news and do not cut your hair if there is a chance you will cry! I slowly went shorter each time I went. I always say I want to pony it up so I have a one-two inch pony stubby. Works for me!
ReplyDeleteI agree with what Carole said! Or do the slow thing so that you can keep a pony tail. (Says the girl who has never had a pony tail!) And good thoughts are coming your way for your friend and the rest of your phone calls. Around here its 90th birthday party all day every day until Sunday. Oh, and that cute kid who arrives tonight! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of auditioning a new haircut here! (and I promise to offer an unbiased opinion despite my own very short hair) ... and I hope your dinner didn't deliver bad news.
ReplyDeleteI work for an electrician and we are so busy... we can't even look at new work for the next 6-8 weeks, much less actually do it. I'm hearing the same from all trades/services.
ReplyDeleteOh Perhaps you should resist the urge to cut! Reading....just finished 4 books. Read DEEP DARK DOWN and LOVED it. Would highly reccomend it.
ReplyDeleteKNitting: a shrug /cardi thing
Watching: USA soccer...go ladies go!
