Three on Thursday

Joining Kat and Carole for Three on Thursday, and today it's with three "interesting" views of hotel carpets. Yes, I know that sounds really weird, but all of them are in the same hotel, and each one struck me so much that I just wanted to ask "What were you thinking?!" I understand they need to choose floor coverings that don't show dirt and wear, but I do wonder why they also have to be so darn ugly.

This is the first carpet you see in the lobby - big, wild, and all I could think of was that it looked like some abstract depiction of a cell, complete with nucleus, mitochondria, and Golgi apparatus.

Here you can see the big picture.

This next carpet stopped me in my tracks when I got off the elevator. It's even wilder, and carpets every hallway leading to rooms. It reminds me of that awful Monster energy drink that Justin used to have in the refrigerator when he was a teenager.

I had to take a quick look in one of the ballrooms to see what lovely choice they had made for the carpeting there, and was not surprised to find this.

I think the yellow squares outlined in red make it really beautiful. ;-)

Head on over here to read more Three on Thursday posts.

  1. I like the carpet in the lobby but the other two? No!

  3. I used to wonder who picked the carpet in the Wendy's. When I first got bifocals I swore that carpet actually MOVED.

  4. Oh, man. Those are . . . Quite Something! The one in the lobby . . . works (although ugly). But the other two? Not so much. Those might be the ugliest carpet designs I've ever seen. (I also think this post is brilliant.) XO

  5. Those carpets might be the ugliest I've ever seen, especially the one in the hallway!

  6. Oh my. My first thought about that lobby carpet (especially the thumbnail) was "camo."

  7. E-gads! What were they thinking?? That 2nd one is just atrocious (but, really, they are all hideous). These could almost make me think the carpeting in our office room is ok (a room seldom used and the carpet was glued down!! so we have not removed it yet...).

  8. If I was my grandmother I'd be claiming to have a seizure! Quite horrific but the one in the lobby does work with all the space. The hallway though...yikes!

  9. Oh my! That really is a Horrible collection of carpets. Who decorated that place?? But what I really want to know is what were the expressions on people's faces as you presumably stood up on a table or counter to get that shot of the lobby carpet? :)

  11. I think they are all hideous, but I think the second one could induce seizures in some people. I actually like yellow and gray together, but not like this! However, this doesn't surprise me since I am usually so out of step with the trends.

  12. LOL - now let's just imagine a bride-to-be walking into that ballroom and seeing her dream wedding taking place on that floor. (or maybe not ;-)
