I’m very happy to join Kat and the Unravelers (even though there's not an official linkup) today with a finished hat. Ta-Da!
I'm quite happy with it, especially since it's something I've thought about making since the first one ended up with holes in it. It only took me 13 years, but better late than never.
But wait, there's more!
I'm still working on the dish towel for Jess for Christmas, but I'll admit that I am getting a bit tired of dish towels.
I was inspired by Sarah using STR from her stash, so I dug out the two skeins of Fire on the Mountain STR that have been marinating in my stash for 11 years and started ...
... a Hitchhiker. I honestly felt a bit sad after finishing the hat, but starting this colorful Hitchhiker cheered me right up.
What are you making this Wednesday in October?

That hat is incredible, Bonny! I'm sure it's going to be a big hit with its recipient. I'm happy to have inspired you to cast on a new Hitchhiker. Honestly, I was starting to worry about you because you didn't have one on your needles for so long!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! What a fabulous hat. Love it! Like Sarah, I was beginning to be a bit worried that you were not knitting a Hitchhiker! The one you've started will be a fun one for sure.
ReplyDeleteWow, Bonny, lots of knitting. The hat was worth every moment you spent on it. Justin is going to love it. I understand that you are getting tired of dishtowels. Is this the last one for a while? I am very happy to see a new HH, and this one looks like a birthday cake, very, very cheerful. Happy Wednesday, I am going to vote today.
ReplyDeleteHurray for that hat! It's wonderful. I'll bet it gets worn to bits too - but not too soon on the bits part. Your cheerful hitchhiker looks really fun (and an antidote to gray days).
ReplyDeleteThat hat! Oh my gosh, Bonny, what an accomplishment! And hooray for the return of the hitchhiker!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing the hat!! It looks so great, Bonny! He's going to love it. That Hitchhiker... YOWZA! That is happy-making yarn right there!
ReplyDeleteAmazing. I can't even wrap my brain around how that is even possible.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It took me six months and I'm pretty sure you could do the same in six months, plus whip up a quilt or two.
DeleteCongratulations on that hat. It is a work of art and a labor of love. It looks great. I too am glad to see a hitchhiker on the needles. STR yarn was such an iconic yarn. It's nice that you still have some in your stash. Mine is long gone.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing the hat!! It looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It took me six months, but I'm glad to have finished it.
DeleteI am envious of your duplicate stitch skills. That hat is beautiful!!
