A Few Friday Letters

Today I'm taking my virtual fountain pen in hand to write a few Friday letters. I saw a couple of things online and I have a suggestion and a question.

======

Dear Stop & Shop,

I saw the picture above and wonder if maybe you would consider an aisle like this the next time you rearrange the store? It would certainly make my shopping much more enjoyable if I had an aisle like this to look forward to, filled with all of my favorite things. I bet I would shop more often and maybe even spend more money. I'll look forward to seeing this very soon!

Thank you,

A shopper that needs to be enticed to visit the store

Dear Weather Underground,

You might want to check your weather instruments. This is from Tuesday, when the predicted temperature was 83 degrees, and the thermometer in my kitchen said it was 84. Forty below zero is a bit of a stretch, especially because I had bedding hanging on the line and it wasn't freeze-drying. Thanks for a bit of entertainment.

Sincerely,

Someone who is definitely not freezing

======

Dear Mother Nature,

I don't seem to have any snowdrops this year, but while I was looking for them, I did find this bright yellow flower (which is probably a weed) and a bee. That's not quite a fair trade but thank you anyway.

Signed,

A snowdrop lover

======

I hope you all have a pleasurable experience at the grocery store, good weather, and maybe even some flowers!

  1. LOL - these are great Bonny!! I want to find a store with that aisle too. The weather is nuts (but not minus 40 thank God) - snow yesterday and 40 degrees colder than the day before, but at least the snow didn't stick. Hope your weekend is a good one!

  2. I would also enjoy a store aisle with all those things -- everything you need for a relaxing evening at home!

    I guess the weather swings have been so drastic lately that even the digital tools are confused.

    I don't know what those yellow flowers are, but there's a yard right near where I pick Molly up from school that is full of flowers that look like that. Even if they are a weed, I'm happy to see that bright yellow!

  3. These are awesome, Bonny! That shopping aisle... perfection! Hahahaha! (and that bee... glorious!) I have recently discovered Acme Weather... who predicted colder weather yesterday, but not the epic fail that other weather apps did! Hahaha

  4. As always....love the Friday letters. I also want a shopping aisle like that. It would be even better if it also had books!
    We are also having confusing weather.

  5. I think you might be a marketing genius, Bonny. I hope someone who works in retail sees this suggestion. It's a dream aisle for sure and isn't the goal to get people into the store? I'm sure I would probably browse around after spending time in that aisle. Weather here unseasonably cold until middle of next week. Up and down and all around, this weather! I use weather underground, and my impression is that they use individual weather stations, so I often have to change the weather station in my area to get accurate results. Maybe they don't do that where you are? But that was indeed, an epic fail. That flower is lovely. I have a bumper crop of small white flowers all over my yard which are definitely weeds every spring, but they are beautiful.

  6. I can't tell you how many weather apps I've installed and deleted on my phone this week. I know the weather has been crazy but you would think they might have been able to keep up.

    1. The weather has been way too crazy for me this week! I could use some nice, gentle spring warmth.

  7. Now that's an aisle I could shop and I hate to shop! Winter has reasserted herself here but it's not THAT cold. And hooray for bees finding food, who cares if it's a weed? I don't have snowdrops this year but I do have daffodil shoots and the hellebores are all in bud!

  8. Whatever that yellow flower is, it certainly brightened up my snowy Sunday. I always enjoy your Friday letters and this group is no exception. It's good to smile in between the all the dismal news.

  9. Funny you mention snowdrops! I thought I had none this year but then I found THREE of them hidden under dead flower brush...
