It's important to keep some traditions alive to help ensure feelings of continuity and groundedness. I have a piece of birthday cake for breakfast the day after my birthday and a piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream is my breakfast the day after Thanksgiving. I’ll probably skip the news for a bit, just to hang onto this feeling of contentment a little longer.
I hope your long weekend is off to a delicious and relaxing start!

Thinking of you as I have that exact same breakfast today!
ReplyDeleteI mean... is there a better breakfast on the planet?? Happy day after, Bonny!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a delicious tradition. Long may tradition live.
ReplyDeleteI was moderately distressed to find that the leftovers I brought home did not include pie! So, the tradition will have to be altered this year. I plan on going over to my brother's today and getting that pie so that I can have pie for lunch or maybe dinner. How was dinner at Ryan's? I bet it was grand.
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I did when I rolled in from the Grands today was grab the pumpkin pie I had stashed in the back of the fridge. I didn't make it for breakfast but it was lunch.
ReplyDeletePumpkin pie tastes just as good for lunch!
DeleteMy favorite breakfast of the year is pie and coffee on the day after Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteMine, too, matched only by leftover birthday cake the day after my birthday.
DeleteSilly me, I keep having my normal breakfast and forgetting that there's half a pie and whipped cream in my fridge! Maybe tomorrow (or Monday, to make having to go back to work less painful).
ReplyDeleteYour piece of pie is way too small! LOL. I'll bet it was delicious.
ReplyDeleteI made two of them for my dad's house and I brought back 7 pieces!! all for me (and him...)
