Tradition

It's important to keep some traditions alive to help ensure feelings of continuity and groundedness. I have a piece of birthday cake for breakfast the day after my birthday and a piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream is my breakfast the day after Thanksgiving. I’ll probably skip the news for a bit, just to hang onto this feeling of contentment a little longer.

I hope your long weekend is off to a delicious and relaxing start!

  4. I was moderately distressed to find that the leftovers I brought home did not include pie! So, the tradition will have to be altered this year. I plan on going over to my brother's today and getting that pie so that I can have pie for lunch or maybe dinner. How was dinner at Ryan's? I bet it was grand.

  5. The first thing I did when I rolled in from the Grands today was grab the pumpkin pie I had stashed in the back of the fridge. I didn't make it for breakfast but it was lunch.

    1. Mine, too, matched only by leftover birthday cake the day after my birthday.

  7. Silly me, I keep having my normal breakfast and forgetting that there's half a pie and whipped cream in my fridge! Maybe tomorrow (or Monday, to make having to go back to work less painful).
