Places I knit this weekend:
In the car while I waited in the long, long line for our county's hazardous waste disposal. (My hazardous waste was 14 burned-out fluorescent four-foot-long bulbs.)
At Ryan's house while waiting for him to finish mowing and John to finish picking more beans.
In my knitting chair in my living room after I was done blanching and freezing beans.
In the gazebo in the park across from my house. In the interest of truthfulness, I didn't actually knit in the gazebo. Years ago there used to be chairs up there, but someone seems to have removed them. I did knit while seated on that bench you can see below next to the love crape myrtle, but left when the park became crowded with teenagers looking for Pokemon and a group of people singing hymns.
It wasn't an especially exciting weekend, but Captain Ahab did get out to see a few sights. I hope your weekend was a good one!
Sometimes our knitting gets taken to exciting places and sometimes it only goes to the usual spots. And that's okay! It looks beautiful no matter what.
ReplyDeleteAhab is really coming along nicely!! Kids and Pokemon along with hymn singers would have been enough for me to vacate the premises as well. LOL
ReplyDeleteI am glad that Captain Ahab accompanied you on your weekend "travels"! And yay for you for getting rid of some hazardous waste, blanching veggies, and spending some time outdoors (despite the singers and pokemon seekers!)
ReplyDeletePlaces I knit this weekend? My couch. Good for you for taking your knitting with you everywhere you went.
ReplyDeleteWhy are hazardous waste lines always so long?? The last time we went we had to wait an hour. I guess because here they're once every six weeks or so but what a pain. Dump people: your citizens have hazardous waste! Let us dump it when we want to!
ReplyDeleteI want to come to your hazardous waste disposal! I spent a little over two hours in line, but at least it wasn't wasted since I had knitting with me. Our county only holds them twice a year, so I'm sure that contributes to the long lines also. It seems that everything is hazardous in NJ and we can't just discard things in the trash any more.
Deletewhat a delightful creative post! I'd say you got lots of good knitting time in this week.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty gazebo! Captain Ahab is looking fine. Kids are still looking for Pokemon? I don't know why, but that pleases me. Hymn singers in the park... I dunno... was there a reason for that?
ReplyDeleteI'd say you and Captain Ahab found some good places to knit and past the time. Well, waiting in line to dispose of hazardous waste isn't the most fun but I bet the knitting made the time go more quickly.
