My father on the far left, with his brothers |
Tomorrow would have been my father's 87th birthday. He's been gone for a little over a year and a half, but of course, I still miss him. I'm glad that I can think of him and remember the silly little dad jokes without recalling the years of sickness and sadness first. And the silly little dad jokes do make me smile. :-)
That's a great note and an expression I've never heard before!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing when your memories go first to the good things and not the endings. :-)
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing quite like a silly little Dad joke! What a wonderful way to remember you dad. XOXO
ReplyDeleteThat is a great photo of your dad! And, I love his little saying! Those little things are some of the best things in life - I hope your weekend is full of fun little things from your dad!

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have a positive and fun reminder of your father and his high jinx. My dad has been gone 2 1/2 years (he would have been 92 this year. Every day I see things that remind me of him. Peace be with us, Bonny.
ReplyDeleteYour father sounds like a hoot. Glad you found this.
ReplyDeleteHe suffered and was in pain for quite a while at the end of his life, so that's why it was such a treat to find this reminder of the fun father he used to be in his prime!
DeleteSilly dad jokes are the best, and I certainly miss my dad so much! I am glad that you are able to think of him and smile, Bonny. He would be glad of that.
ReplyDeleteSending hugs! I'm so glad you have good memories to hold on to - it helps! My dad would've been 82 this past Monday. We gathered and toasted him (my sister actually drank a bit of scotch, his favorite) :-)
