Yellow blooming trees against a blue sky.
Fuzzy magnolia buds against a blue sky.
Grape hyacinths responding to increasing warmth and sunlight.
Interesting shadows on the patio and driveway.
I found out that authors' names matter when I accidentally got this book from the library instead of the one Kat recommended.
Kat is right; The Night Gardener by Terry and Eric Fan is magical (and now I want an owl topiary).
And finally perfecting a crispy, cheesy crust on baked macaroni and cheese was one of my favorite things this week.
Hope your week was a good one and your weekend is even better!
Cheers for the weekend! Sorry about the scanner. We have one at the library that we let people use, maybe your library does, too.
ReplyDeleteBummer about the scanner - but I did enjoy a look at early spring where you live. So glad you're seeing blue skies and sunshine! ...yum, along with macaroni and cheese. one of my all-time favorite comfort foods and I cannot remember the last time I had it. please think of me when you have a bite!
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking of making macaroni & cheese this weekend! Yours looks spectacular. My grape hyacinths aren't up yet, but I'm hoping soon. Missing your "Across America Post" but like others, the pictures of Spring are welcome. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteoh no! first the toilet now the scanner....what is next? I have a scanner/printer that probably should be updated but it still works :) lovely signs of spring in your corner of the woods.
ReplyDeleteYour book mixup reminds me of the time my in-laws went to see "Fatal Attraction," but instead saw "Fatal Beauty." My MIL told us, "I didn't know Whoopi Goldberg was in it and kept waiting for Glenn Close to show up." Hilarious.
ReplyDeleteI cannot help with the scanner, but there is a phone app that is pretty darn good - PhotScan. And, I know... I love The Night Gardener and seriously, have read it multiple times. It is the best book on earth to calm your inner self. And, those blue skies! I love it! Happy Friday to you!
ReplyDeleteOh! You are just a bit ahead of us, spring-wise. Gives me hope. Maybe next week??? (Because it's starting to finally warm up.) I, too, have a scan app on my phone that works pretty good in a pinch. (The one I use is TurboScan.) The RIGHT book looks just lovely. I'll have to check it out at my library (and thanks for the heads-up on the mix-up). Once I reserved a book that was on one of the award short lists . . . only to discover it shared a title with a bodice-ripper romance novel. Hmmmmm. Not quite what I had in mind. . . :-) Happy weekend, Bonny!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I am not so patiently waiting all that springtime stuff! We have a rainy weekend ahead, followed by a SLIGHT increase in temperature next week... maybe something will start to happen! That mac & cheese looks so yummy. Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteOur spring is running apace of yours. Even the drenching rain didn't damage the beautiful flowering trees (too much)! Good luck with your scanner!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful view on this terrifically damp dark dank day! (And my first day back from FL!) Thanks Bonny for making my morning!
