When I was a kid, Glinda was the epitome of beauty and everything that was wonderful to me. I loved her dress, the crown and wand, and especially her floating bubble.
Halloween has never been my favorite holiday as I'm not a big fan of dressing up in costumes, but I really, really wanted to be Glinda. My wonderful mother did what wonderful mothers do and made a Glinda costume for me.
Some people mistook me for a ballerina, but I knew I was Glinda. I had her pink dress, her crown and wand, and even a special pink cape made to keep me a bit warmer while I floated through the neighborhood. I wore that costume for many years, and often wish I still had the cape or at least the wand. Being Glinda is one of my absolute favorite childhood memories!
Oh, how perfect! What a sweet story - and GREAT costume! Happy Halloween, Bonny! (I'm not a Halloween-person either. . .)
ReplyDeleteWhat a precious picture! My mom made costumes for me too. Such great memories.
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable! Homemade costumes really are best.
ReplyDeleteI remember being a butterfly one Halloween and I was the only one who knew what the costume was. I LOVED my wings that my mom made me :)
