It was a pleasant weekend in my neighborhood(s) (MD, NJ, and PA) and I hope it was in yours, too. I did mainly mundane chores like plenty of laundry and cleaning, but it's good to get them done. If only they stayed done!
There were interesting clouds in the gray and humid skies and that heralded plenty of rain. I really can't complain since we weren't in the middle of a hurricane.
There were also a few moments without rain when I spied this monarch on one of the sunflowers in MD. The garden is winding down and many of the sunflowers have been picked apart by the goldfinches so I'm glad this monarch could find a good one.
I hope your week ahead is a good one!
Two fabulous photos, Bonny! I love those clouds. Such drama! And I'm always happy to see Monarchs. :-)
ReplyDeleteHere's to a great week ahead. XO
That cloud photo is particularly stunning! I was happy to see our hummingbirds are still around, sometimes they are gone when I get home from the Cape.
ReplyDeleteLove your cloud photo Bonny - stunning! Isn't it annoying how you do those chores and suddenly they need doing again?
ReplyDeleteBoth of your photos are gorgeous! Hope this week is a good one for you!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debbie, and the same to you! :-)
DeletePA? Now you are a regular in 3 states? Bonny, you get around. I love both photos, but that sunflower photo warms my heart. I have been thinking about getting some milkweed to plant for the butterflies, but those seeds are hard to come by. If you plant sunflowers, which type do you plant? Yes, all those chores come every other day, so my brain says! I hope this is the beginning of a lovely week for you and yours.
ReplyDeletelove the mood of the clouds! It's super gloomy right now and I think we are headed into a rainy stretch..
ReplyDeleteOh my, that sky is gorgeous!! We've had stormy weather, too, but nothing like a hurricane... and a slightly better forecast ahead. Laundry is my middle name lately!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photographs. I walk by a patch of sunflowers and lately they have been covered with honey bees. Hope for the world. I love the dramatic clouds but no so much the heat and humidity that produce them.
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't manage to hop over to Delaware and hit four states in two days? ;-) Those are some lovely photos, the clouds especially. I'm glad to hear that the finches have been enjoying the sunflowers.
ReplyDeleteThose clouds are just stunning! I have been happy to see so many monarchs on my butterfly bush this year... I have found them to be very camera shy and I am impressed with the photo you got!
ReplyDeleteLove your butterfly picture. Do you register your sightings on Journey North? It is citizen scientists documenting a variety of animal (and plant sighting too) migrations. https://journeynorth.org/sightings/ Sorry I love them and you can see what other people have logged in for sightings. :)
ReplyDeleteI did! I thought it was a little late to see a monarch in this area, but others have been seeing them here also, so I guess it's not late at all.
Deleteok, I know I've been absent a bit - but when did you get a neighborhood in PA? (is that where Ryan lives?) LOVE the clouds and sure hope you didn't get totally doused by Ida!
