Too Much

Last week I had a post titled "Not Enough"; this week it's "Too Much". Ah, for that Goldilocks place of just right!

I've just gotten in from three hours of shoveling on this second day of the storm and decided to give my back and shoulders a break before I head out again.

Portrait of a slightly disgruntled shoveler - turtleneck and alpaca headband for warmth, down vest for ease of movement and throwing snow, fleece pants and knee-high muck boots because that's what all the cool shovelers wear, and snow-proof gloves because that's what all the smart shovelers wear.

The pictures don't really show it well, but there are 20" on the ground and it's still snowing. I hope your own snow-clearing efforts are going well, and if you don't have snow where you are, that's even better!

P.S. A note to myself: Next time you buy a house, make sure to get one with a much shorter driveway.

  1. Oh, Bonny, I thought of you every time I saw the weather yesterday. That is too much, waaaay too much! Take really good care and don't hurt yourself with all that shoveling. As you well know, it is easy to do. I hope, at least, that it is a dry snow and easier to shovel than that heavy wet stuff. I don't have any snow, so I can't complain about the weather here.

  2. Ugh, that's a lot of snow! The snow totals were a bust for us here, being close the ocean we got mostly rain and today there was just slush.

  4. Whoa - that is a lot of snow. Take it easy for the sake of shoulders and back. You have the gear to be the best dressed shoveler. Stay warm and safe.

  6. we got about 15 inches and I didn't mind at all since my husband took care of it with the snowblower and I didn't have to go anywhere in particular.

  8. That is, indeed, TOO MUCH! We tend to get a lot of snow (because we live in a lake effect snow belt area) (although not this year). We actually hire a snow plow service to do our driveway every year. I can't imagine managing all that snow with a shovel! I SO HOPE the snow has stopped and you're finished with the shoveling for now. Sending good snow removal juju your way! XO
