Dear Deer

In the process of organizing and backing up my photos, I came across a few pictures of deer. Usually, they are tasting my tulips, gorging themselves on my hostas, or siphoning birdseed out of the feeder, but here they are just looking like sweet innocent creatures, eating grass or attempting to hide in the field behind us.

Here's hoping you can get out and enjoy some nature this weekend.

  1. I love the second one, with its cheek full -- you caught it mid-munch!

  3. I hope you have a great weekend as well! I love deer when they leave my plants alone. Actually we ripped out all the bushes and now have butterfly bushes which they don't eat. I feel like I might have outsmarted them.

  5. What fabulous photos, Bonny! My neighborhood deer are not nearly so photogenic, but they sure are hungry . . .

  9. Love the photos of your deer, but I am grateful they are not in my neighborhood. :)

  10. All of these photos are wonderful but I understand that deer do quite a bit of damage in yards. The little fawn curled up in the thicket is my favorite though. I've been walking. One of the trails on the edge of the city is lined with wild plums. I imagine they are about to bloom. I avoided it this weekend because of Mother's Day holiday but I hope to get out sometime next week on a weekday to inhale the scent.
