Three on Thursday

Joining Carole for Three on Thursday, and today it's with three different sky views. I'm still working on organizing my digital photos, and yesterday I combined quite a few different folders labeled "sky", "skies", and "look up" into one, and then spent an hour or more going through all the photos. I've probably got more than 100 pictures of skies, so you may see more of them on future Thursdays.

First, a rainbow that appeared right in front of my house just as I went out to look for one after a thunderstorm.

Here is a stormy sky during sunset. I saw this just as I reached the top of the cemetery hill during my walk. I didn't have my phone, so I ran home to get it. I'm glad I did because the view was even more dramatic when I got back to the top of the hill.

Lastly, this is one of my favorites, taken from our bark yard after Ryan and I had a very nice mother-son conversation. It's a pretty photo that always evokes loving memories.

I hope you have a lovely view of the sky above you today.

Head on over here to read more Three on Thursday posts.

  1. The sky is one of my favorite things to photograph, too! and those three photos are perfect examples of why ... beautiful nature, always changing ... and I think looking up is a lovely metaphor. Happy Thursday!

  3. Lovely skies. I am glad to know I'm not the only one who gets outside to take blog photos as the sky changes. Sometimes I have trouble getting the same colors pixelating as I see with my eye. My eye usually sees more color and deeper tones. My Fuji and I are not getting along too great . AND i promised to take some photos at the barn Saturday for their 5k run in the pastures with the horses.

    1. I've found the same thing with my phone camera. The skies are always better when I'm looking at them in person, but even the photos are a pleasure to behold!

  7. These are lovely photos, Bonny. I especially like the rainbow. I do have a beautiful, clear blue October sky today, and I enjoyed it very much. The sky here is so clear and so blue in October if it isn't raining.

  9. Beautiful photography of the sky. I love watching the sky. I swear I could do it for hours at a time if life didn't interfere. I also got a chuckle out of your over-optimistic knitting bag of projects. Really - it is good to be prepared - what if something had come up and you had to stay longer without enough knitting? Better too much than not enough.
