Unraveled Wednesday

Joining Kat and friends for Unraveled Wednesday.

I've only knit a few rows on my Match & Move in the last few weeks, but I've declared today a mental health day for myself. A day to re-ravel before things get too frayed. My plan is to knit, do just a few chores, maybe get a much-needed manicure, and possibly some Thai food. I'm tempted to stay in my pajamas, but that's not a good look when you are picking up your pad thai.

The announcement of the Man Booker Longlist yesterday is also helping with the re-raveling. There are several books that sound quite interesting to me, but Snap is where I started. I listened to it while I mowed and shredded 16 cups of zucchini for the freezer yesterday and I didn't want to stop listening to sleep last night. I don't usually think of mysteries when I think of the Man Booker prize, but this one deserves its place on the list.

What are you making and reading this week?

  1. Oh yay! I can't wait to start Snap! I've only read Warlight from the list and see we'll have loads of great reading ahead! You are SO smart to take a mental health day. You've been dealing with a LOT of heavy stuff for the last few months. I'm glad you decided that self-care was most important. Enjoy your most excellent day!

  5. Snap looks excellent! Good for you taking a breather today - enjoy!! This week has gotten busy for me, so no knitting so far - hoping to remedy that this afternoon before Fletch and I head out to meet Dee and Steve for dinner. About half-way through "The Essex Serpent" which I am enjoying.

  7. OMG that book looks so good! I'm glad you're taking a day for some R&R and treating yourself to some delicious food! I've started Kimono by Melody Hoffman for my knitting and am plugging away at Lonesome Dove and listening to Ready Player One...so fun!

  8. I'm so glad you're taking some time to re-ravel! You certainly deserve it after your incredibly hectic and disruptive summer, thus far. I just started Snap today! Very much looking forward to reading it. XO

  9. Your match and move looks good, Bonny, even if it has been neglected for good causes. Mental health days are a perfect way to take care of you, so you are a smart lady. I hope you enjoy your day very much and are able to recharge your batteries. I have not enjoyed a lot of Man Booker nominated books, so I look forward to your reviews.

  10. I just love the colors in your Match and Move.

Knitting: Block of Chocolate Socks (which take much patience --- the yarn feels like HAIR.)
Reading: The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*CK and a Diabetes sourcebook.

    1. I hope that you're finding some peace and quiet on the porch. The storms! We've had too many of them and too many are loud, complete with incredible deluges and non-stop thunder and lightning. I think I'm officially tired of rain (for a while at least).

  12. Match and move is coming right along. Slow and steady wins the race. What a good idea to declare a mental health day. Knitting a baby sweater sleeve - slow and slower. I will have to look at that book list. I am always up for ideas.
