But when I read Carole's post this morning about three luxuries, it was so good that I had to steal her idea. I was enjoying three of my luxuries at the same time!
Reading (The Garrick Year)
In bed (a comfortable hotel bed I won't have to make)
With the ac cranked way down (it's set on 64)
It's delightful to linger with these three luxuries because they don't often happen when I'm at home. We don't close on the MD house until 3 pm this afternoon, so my morning is pretty open. It's also wonderful to be reminded that these are indeed luxuries and appreciate them more. Thanks, Carole!
Now I'm going to head downstairs for some more luxuries - tea and freshly-baked scones. You can head on over here to read more Three on Thursday posts.
PERFECT!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your closing! XO
Oh man!!! SCONES!!! That would have been high on my luxury list. Good luck with closing this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you're taking time to relax and enjoy the quite times while you can! Good luck this afternoon and with the whirlwind that follows!
ReplyDeleteI love the part about not having to make the bed - lol! Thinking of you and sending all good vibes for this afternoon!
ReplyDeleteOh, that sounds like a lovely morning. Good luck with closing this afternoon!!
ReplyDeleteHotels can definitely be a source of luxury! I'll be thinking of you this afternoon!
ReplyDeleteOh Luxury. This summer weather is my luxury ! The screen porch is my luxury. Yarn is my luxury. having two cars is a luxury..not one we have right now!!
ReplyDeleteYou have (and certainly appreciate) lots of luxuries and that is a great thing!
DeleteExcellent! Bask in the comfortable, coolness and celebrate the NEW HOUSE. XO
ReplyDeleteAh, yes, it is sometimes very hard to practice gratitude, but it is so good for you. Enjoy! And be grateful.
ReplyDeleteSometimes we all need a little luxury. I hope the tea and scones were delicious.
ReplyDeleteI hope everything went smoothly! (and then you got to return to your hotel room ... freshly made up! with NO effort on your part :-) that was always my favorite part about business travel)
ReplyDeleteI hope your Thursday morning was a sign of good things to come and that closing went smoothly. The occasional moment of luxury is such a boost to getting through life!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Maureen! Closing went fine, and then we started on the real work! We did get a lot done in a week, but it's been easy to get discouraged because there's so much more to do. I have to keep telling myself it will all happen in good time. I'm heading home (to NJ) tomorrow to deal with some of my Dad's estate stuff and get a cracked tooth dealt with. I'll be home all next week, and maybe even have time to write a post or two after a busy Monday. I'm looking forward to treating myself to a little luxury (or two). Hope you enjoy the upcoming weekend!
DeleteI would love to sit in your AC!! whatever you write, I find interesting and fun to read so don't worry :)
