Unraveled Wednesday

Joining Kat and friends for Unraveled Wednesday.

You might have seen this photo on Instagram yesterday - my knitting waiting patiently in the hotel room in DE, watching Scrubs, after learning that the first two houses scheduled for our tour yesterday were already under contract.

There's been no change in the can't-find-a-house situation, and no real change in the knitting, so I'll bring you along with my knitting and I to the fascinating places we visited this morning.

We started with an early morning doctor's appointment. The waiting room had too many patients in it to make a picture possible, so here we are at Quest so I could get my blood drawn.

Next, we were off to Walgreen's for a prescription. The pharmacy clerk was having a bad day, and my knitting wanted to ask her if she could try not to be so rude, but I didn't think a confrontation (especially with a crazy lady saying she was speaking for her knitting) would really improve the clerk's day.

Since the Beverage Outlet (I don't know why they don't just call it a liquor store) is next to Walgreen's, my knitting began pleading to go in, you know, just to look around. We've got plenty to drink at home, and definitely don't need anything alcoholic to drink at 9:30 am, so it was back in the knitting bag and back home.

My reading is pretty much the same as last week, but don't worry, I'm not going to subject you to another tour around town with How to Change Your Mind

What are you making and reading this week?

  3. Yikes! Not the best of days. What is it with clerks at pharmacies? Lately the ones I've had to deal with are not only rude, but incredibly stupid as well (not a word I like to use, but...). Hope things get better quickly!

  4. I was thinking you could match your knitting to your drinking...a little bourbon perhaps or a nicely salt and peppered bloody mary? :-)

  5. Here in Michigan, liquor stores are called "party stores." I love that term. So much. One of our local "party stores" is called Mega-Bev. I bet your knitting would love to visit! XO

  8. Bummer, bummer, double bummer! I hope you had some others to view. And I hope you are not sick, but if you are, feel better soon, Bonny. Here in the South, they are either called package stores or liquor stores. When I lived in NC they were state run and called ABC stores (don't ask me!). I'm sorry you ran into a cranky clerk, but I had that experience yesterday at the hazardous waste dump. This lady actually went through every item I had and told me it wasn't on their list. Then I had to explain to her what it was, and she grudgingly accepted it. No, to the computer power supply, but she would be happy to take a whole computer. HUH? I did not argue, just held my tongue and remembered that she must be a very unhappy person to give people such a hard time that are trying to do the right thing. Then I came home and vented to my poor husband. People!

  9. My making is all over the place. A little bit of this. A little bit of that.

Hope all is well . . . Quest --- a different kind of pointy little sticks and not near as much FUN! At least not on OUR side of things.

  11. Beverage Outlet? That is almost as good as Wine and Spirits in PA, lol. And, I am glad you had your knitting with you for such a challenging day!

We've got the ever official Utah State Liquor Stores. Yes, THEY rule everything here.
