Ten on Tuesday

The Ten on Tuesday topic for today is the 10 Best Things You Did in November. Thankfully, I have 30 posts from November to refer to while making my list.
  1. Got to enjoy having Justin home for Thanksgiving!
  2. Made plane reservations for Ryan to come home at Christmas!
  3. Successfully completed NaBloPoMo. While this didn't better the world in any way, it's still an accomplishment (and I'm very glad it's over).
  4. Paid more attention to my world and what was going on around me. This was mainly because I was looking for post ideas or interesting things to take photos of, but I hope I continue to do this.
  5. Raked leaves ... a lot. It needed to be done and was good exercise.
  6. Started some amaryllis bulbs.
  7. Finally painted the kitchen window that I've put off for far too long. Bonus: I also painted two other windows.
  8. Dug up some really cool carrots!
  9. Discovered that E.B. White was more than the author of Charlotte's Web. I started reading Letters of E.B. White because of this letter and am discovering that he was a very interesting human being.
  10. Read four other books, none of which was outstanding. I've been a bit distracted by life so I haven't had much reading time, but I need to simply make time in December.
I'd love to hear some of your book recommendations if you've read anything wonderful recently. I think I'll stay much more grounded and avoid the craziness if I've got some great reading to look forward to in December.

  1. I was hoping this would be an easy prompt and you did just what I thought - went back and looked at everything you posted to make your list. November was a great month for you!

  2. I loved reading your posts in November! It was a really busy month, for sure. Have you read the Neapolitan Series by Elena Ferrante? I've only read the first two, but I'm hooked! (The first one is called My Brilliant Friend.)

  3. I loved E.B. White stories as a young child, my mom read both Charlotte's Web and Stuart Little to my sister and I before bed. I remember begging for "just another chapter, please" lol. I did not know about the Letters of E.B. White, thank you for sharing! I am adding that to my reading list!

Also, it does look like you had a wonderful month! Yay!

  4. I recommend The Essays of EB White. I first read them back in 1977 when I was in grad school and I just re-read them. I think I enjoyed reading them even more this time.

  5. I'm trying to do the same for December - not get caught up in crazy stuff and just enjoy the season. I think we can do it!

  6. I very much enjoyed reading your posts this month. Personally, I hit a wall once the 30th arrived. I dusting my hands off today.
Suite Française by Irène Némirovsky and I certainly second the Neapolitan books. I couldn't stop reading until I'd finished all 4.

  10. Yay for plane tickets at Christmas! It made it much easier to say goodbye to Sara on Sunday knowing that she'd be back in less than FOUR weeks!! And for reading - I'm looking for inspiration myself. Especially something to listen to. I find myself needing something light and entertaining and my Audible library doesn't have much of that...

  12. Two books I've enjoyed in the past month are "The School of Essential Ingredients" and the sequel "The Lost Art of Mixing" - both by Erica Bauermeister.
I didn't join in on 10 on Tuesday since I never really do anything - LOL!
The only two things I did of note for November - learn how to video chat on facebook with my sister who lives in Ohio - fun! and buy a much much needed refrigerator that is hopefully going to be delivered and set up today with no problems!!
