Whoops!

Nothing says Happy Father's Day to your favorite father than presenting him with a pile of goo that you scraped off the kitchen floor after you dropped the zucchini quiche you were taking out of the oven. (My epithets were quite a bit stronger than "whoops".) I had just mopped the kitchen floor the day before, so John said the "five minute rule" was being instituted. So while the quiche looks like garbage, it did taste okay, the kitchen floor got mopped again, and a load of laundry got done.

I hope your week is off to a better start than mine was yesterday!

  1. Oh dear! I guess if he didn't mind and it tasted okay, it was all good in the end (and I think Julia Child would have approved). Here's hoping today ends without mopping the floor again!

  2. That sounds like something I would do, Bonny. I can be clumsy, without doubt. Glad that at your house, it's OK to rescue these types of accidents. It is at my house, too! I hope this means all kitchen accidents are over for the week! Happy Monday!

  4. Oh man. :/ What an unhappy occurrence... I am with John on the 5 second rule (and might have even stretched it to 10!)

  5. OMG! You did make me laugh, but I'm sorry for the episode. I agree that the 5 (or 10) second rule applies and agree with Sarah that Julia Child would have approved (I remember one of her shows where she flipped an omlette right onto the floor!!). PS I still think it looks good.

  7. 5 second rule for the win - every time! I'll bet it was delicious!

  8. I think you should call it the Mixed Up Quiche and make it like you planned it to look like that. I bet it was delicious.

  9. It does look delicious ... and I'm sure it was! (only wish you didn't have to mop the floor two days in a row!)

    1. Those two finished Hitchhikers look awesome side by side - what a wonderful homecoming/housewarming gift for Ryan! I saw Debbie's awesome review of Tears of Amber, too - somehow it's in my Kindle library already - a very happy accident.
