Three on Thursday

I'm joining Carole and friends for Three on Thursday, today with how one thing led to another, which ultimately led to three things.

Earlier this week, I decided that I was hungry for ziti. One of the benefits of being the designated cook is that I usually get to make what I like when I like (assuming I can buy the ingredients at the grocery store). So ziti was prepared.

I've been baking English muffin bread, but when I checked on how much was left of the loaf I had just made the day before, I realized that John must have eaten several slices about two-thirds of the loaf. So another loaf of English muffin bread was baked.

When I realized that we had two parts of a decent meal, I thought that of course, we needed dessert. So I made raspberry crumb bars.

It was a winning dinner trifecta!
Be sure to visit Carole for more Three on Thursday thoughts.

  1. If I was closer, I would have popped in for dinner! Looks delicious. It's been interesting to figure out what to cook these days. When I have a menu that seems to be a winner, I feel successful, but I really miss those fresh vegetables. We watched the Frontline special last night, and you're right, it made me angry and sad. Have a great Thursday!

  2. I am amazed that John stopped at the 2/3 mark! I think I would have just finished it off! :)

And a crumble is an excellent idea! I have raspberries in the freezer! Thank you for the inspiration!

  3. I'd have been guilty of devouring the English muffin bread, too. It's the best!

    1. I wanted a piece for some cinnamon toast, so I wanted to make sure there was plenty!

  4. Thank you for sharing that bread recipe -- it looks very easy and yummy, and it'd be good to make if we need slicing bread! (As a bonus, I actually have the ingredients, minus the cornmeal, but I think I can get away with leaving it out.) Baked ziti sounds really yummy right now, though I think only two of us would eat it.

  5. Oh man! I have not made English Muffin bread in ages/years and it is SO GOOD. I need to make some. And Ziti - I have been thinking about that!

  10. My favorite part of homemade bread is the heel and ziti is my favorite pasta dish! I'll take the raspberry crumble, too!

  11. That meal looks delicious and comforting. A long time ago I made an English Muffin Bread so thank you for the reminder and the link. I plan to give it a try. I find the King Arthur recipes to be good ones and I haven't been to that website for awhile.
