to finally visiting the local English brew pub for fish and chips,
to some adventures on the roof clearing a clogged gutter before it started leaking down the inside of the kitchen wall. Some of you have seen this, but here are my steps to clear a clogged gutter:
1. Grab your phone in case you survive the fall and need to call somebody.
2. Go out on the roof and survey the situation.
3. Stick your hand in the drain pipe opening to clear it. Do not get it stuck as it will hurt and bleed when you finally get it out.
4. When your hand doesn't work, make your own clog-clearing tool (patent pending, not for use during thunderstorms).
5. Go back on the roof, use your clog-clearing tool and rejoice as the gutter drains.
6. Congratulate yourself on a job well done.
7. Sit and knit for the rest of the afternoon.
8. Pour your self a stiff beverage to cheer your success. (courtesy of Kat!)
Sunday evening was was nice and quiet, spent with Grantchester and knitting. I hope your weekend had a full range of fun, enjoyment, relaxation, and productivity!
Lovely looking beans! And, I am glad you got to the Brew Pub! However, the gutters seem like a high risk activity that could adversely impact knitting and bean picking!
ReplyDeletegoodness! you need to be more careful with your gutter attacks. I love the photo of the pub, looks fun and inviting :) I am a green bean lover and would eat all those beans right up before they were cooked.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly know how to pack a weekend with all that's good, bad and in-between! Glad your hand did not sustain a more permanent injury and the rest of the weekend went swimmingly well! That's quite a truck load of beans. Smith is envious!
ReplyDeleteOuch for your hand! Love your tool...that would work well on some of our inside drains too - lol. Lovely looking beans (the crane and truck pictures are just too funny) and the fish and chips look delicious!
ReplyDeleteI love your bean photos - so fun! And yikes on your hand injury - you must be more careful! The pub looks like my kind of place.
ReplyDeleteI love the bean photos! You are a hoot! Obviously, the boys toys are still within reach. And the ubiquitous coat hanger, one of my favorite raw materials for making tools! I hope you had fun at the pub.
ReplyDeleteActually, those Matchboxes are mine! My sister and I both loved them when we were growing up, and they are one of the few things I still have from childhood. I still love to play with them! :-)
DeleteThose beans and that brew pub look good, but not your poor hand! I spent my evening with knitting & Grantchester too!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness - I think I'm about as afraid of heights as I am of snakes! I'm glad you survived to tell the story - and a few others :-) and it looks like John might've enjoyed the pub enough for y'all to plan another visit?
ReplyDeleteand p.s. I LOVE that you have matchbox cars ... still!!
