I’m happy to join Kat and the Unravelers today with some finished objects.
I finally put thumbs on the Cozy Gusset Mittens. I thought it might be too late since we've had warm weather this week, but we're supposed to get nine inches of snow on Sunday. That's not welcome news at all, but at least I've got finished mittens.
But better than that, I finally finished the Ansel Adams Hitchhiker. Kat has been calling it that for a while and that's how I've been thinking of it with the black, white, and gray tones.
That's not a great photo so here's a better one.
I really do love it and since next week will be cold and snowy I'll still have plenty of opportunities to wear it.
And up next: my Dream Hitchhiker, knit completely out of Road to China Light. (Wonderful yarn from a wonderful friend!) I'll be winding it tonight and casting on post haste.
I've read three books this week, so I'll put all my thoughts about them in a post on Friday (or maybe not until Monday if things don't calm down a little bit).
What are you making and reading this mid-February week?

Wow, lot FO's in one post. I really love that Ansel Adams HH, and Kat did come up with the perfect name for it. Love the red mittens, but 9 inches of snow?! Bummer! I hope it is only snow, and that it melts fast. I guess you are planning those meals for next week, huh? ;) I don't think I have ever seen you wear anything maroon, but that yarn is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt's a FO extravaganza!! I love your Ansel Adams Hitchhiker! It is perfection! I am sock knitting (happily) and tucked away on the west coast of Ireland and loving every minute of it!
ReplyDeleteWonderful finishes Bonny! The Ansel Adams Hitchhiker is gorgeous and looks so good wrapped around your neck! And, yes, I saw the forecast for Sunday last night (7-9"). Luckily when I looked this morning the forecast was down to 1" - they never know anyway...I'm nearing the finish of the Family Socks and am anxious to cast on something new. Your latest yarn for another Hitchhiker is beautiful. I'll look forward to your book reviews.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful finishes and just in time for the snow. We've only got rain in the forecast for Sunday which is disappointing. I don't consider all that white stuff we had snow so I think we are due at least one decent snowfall before spring.
ReplyDeleteI'm wearing the Ansel Adams Hitchhiker while I knit the Dream Hitchhiker and watch John and Ryan try to fix a garbage disposal. The fixing isn't going very well but my knitting is great! I'm ignoring the weather until maybe Friday which will give me time to make meals and read a more probable forecast.
Deletethat hitchhiker goes with everything and I love the name you chose. We have the print copies of that artist. Very minimal knitting here since I'm recovering from a medical procedure last week.
ReplyDeleteNine inches?! Holy moly -- good think you have some warm new mittens and a gorgeous new shawl to wear!
ReplyDeleteWhat GORGEOUS knits, Bonny! The mittens look so warm and cozy, and Ansel Adams looks beautiful AND warm. (I'm sorry about the snow in your forecast, though.) But - WOW! Your dream-hitchhiker yarn looks . . . absolutely dreamy. Can't wait to watch that one come to life!
ReplyDeleteYour Ansel Adams Hitchhiker looks lovely and what lovely yarn for your next HH! Those mittens will come in handy for your next snowfall. We are having what I am sure is "false spring" here in Illinois. I just took a walk in the 60 degree sunshine, but it looks like winter will return by the weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debbie! You know it's probably false spring but definitely enjoy 60 degree sunshine while it lasts!
DeleteI love your mittens and your Ansel Adams Hitchhiker is wonderful! It must feel great to have it finished!
ReplyDeleteThat is one beautiful skein of yarn. The mittens look warm and toasty and the Ansel Adams hitchhiker looks great. I think grays are so wearable.
