But I actually do like how it looks right now. The jewel tones are lovely. It's bright, but the colors work well together. I suspect that you'll get some pooling, though, which may or may not bother you. I'd suggest looking at some of the finished hitchhiker projects done with similar yarn, and see if you think you'll be OK with it. If you don't have an issue with the pooling, then I'd say to go for it. If you get to a point where you don't like how it's looking, you can always try something else. A chevron pattern like "Favorite Scarf Ever" is great for yarn like this - Loopy Ewe has a project that was done with the Rockshelter yarn, and I think it's very pretty.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5141954207305878743.post-66526771555441459892016-03-17T08:49:51.047-04:002016-03-17T08:49:51.047-04:00I am a frequent victim of clown-barf yarn --- stuf...I am a frequent victim of clown-barf yarn --- stuff that looks so wonderful in the skein, but not so much in fabric. (I think it's because I'm such a sucker for color explosions.) You've chosen a good pattern for that particular skein of clown-barf, though. I imagine socks would pool in Not Attractive, Clown-barfy ways -- but I think the hitchhiker, with its gradual increase, will keep the pools from being too . . . constant. Mary's styling comment is spot on -- this will look great with a denim shirt -- or with just simple white. Knit on. (And if you don't like it in 10 inches or so, let it go!)Kymhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01332895223302876006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5141954207305878743.post-811122254039726372016-03-16T19:08:16.302-04:002016-03-16T19:08:16.302-04:00Keep knitting!
