Unraveled Wednesday: 4/15/26

I’m happy to join Kat and the Unravelers today with the Hitchhiker still in progress, and I've finally received all of the colors of Palette from Knitpicks that I need to knit and duplicate stitch Justin's hat.

We're on our second day of unseasonably warm temperatures in the 90s. This is supposed to last until Friday and then we'll return to more seasonable temps next week. To be honest, the Hitchhiker looks much the same as last week so I'm not even going to stretch it out, but I have added another skein. I knit on it a lot yesterday, but my hands get sweaty so I may be forced to set it aside temporarily until next week. That's okay, I have quite a bit to knit on Justin's hat and then the duplicate stitching will probably take even longer. That pile o' Palette is a good reminder that I should get going!

I read three books this week and seemed to write wordy reviews, so I'll post them all together tomorrow.

What are you making this Tax Day in April?

  1. OOF! That HH pile does look sweaty, Bonny. It has been really hot down here, maybe a drop in temps starting this weekend with some rain that we desperately need. I am looking forward to it. That is quite a pile of palette! You are going to be busy for a while. Starting renovations and repairs today on the rental house that the renter trashed, but I was not surprised. I am glad my stepson will be moving into that house when he gets back from CA. He will not trash it. He may let it get filthy, but he won't trash it. ;) Have been busy reading and planting some veggies. Looking forward to your "wordy" book reviews that I enjoy so much.

  2. I continue to work on a Panning for Gold sock. Socks are so small - good to have on these too warm days. I see fifties in the forecast for next week though! But tonight is cold shrimp for dinner (and fresh green beans). Looking forward to your book reviews - they are always a treat to read.

  3. I do not think it is good for summer temps to arrive mid-April. Wow... that is just no fun at all. However, your Palette looks quite lovely for a bit of "yarn painting"! I got Good People this week... but the audio version (sigh) I am still way down the list for the digital version at my library so I might break down and buy the book to take to Erie next week!

  4. That's a very pretty pile of Palette! I have a ridiculous amount of it stashed away here. All I have to see is a photo like yours and I get all twitchy.

    1. Just seeing that pile of yarn all together made me realize that I better quit lollygagging around and get knitting!

  5. And here I thought we were hot in the 80s -- I do not envy your 90s! It's certainly not conducive to knitting, so I hope more normal temperatures come and stick around so you can get back to that lovely Hitchhiker. Looking forward to your reviews!

  7. What a beautiful pile of Palette. If I didn't know it was earmarked for a wildlife hat, I might suspect colorwork in a tea and coffee theme. The temps are just crazy. We have had a few days in the mid 80's and that is warm enough. Hopefully your weather cools off so you can return to that rich cranberry/wine red Hitchhiker.
