Bravo to you! Voting by mail is such a fantastic way to vote! I do the same here in PA, although this year I am circumventing the Post Office... I will take my ballot to an official drop box.
Hooray for you! I have been struggling with motivation to vote for a few years in this deeply red state that I live in. I feel like my vote really doesn't matter much, but nevertheless I vote, hoping the tide will turn. It's a privilege to be able to vote.
Our primary isn't until August . . . but we do have a special election on May 5. You can bet I'll be voting (and delivering my ballot to the very convenient official drop box). I'll also be working on election day. Because damnit . . . I'm doing my part to keep elections free and fair!
I was just notified by text that my ballot will be on the way. I like the new system we have here in MD. All I have to do is fill it out and drop it in the box down the street and then I get notified if it's been accepted and counted.
I love that you get texts! I'm going to have to see if that's a possibility here. I can track my ballot after I mail it, and I always feel good when I see that it's been accepted and counted.
Good for you! I vote at every opportunity and each time I go to vote I remember my grandmothers telling me about when women got the right to vote and how precious this right was for them. I loved it when they said "and our votes are secret, you never have to tell anyone how you voted...even your husband!"
I love it; my grandmother told me the same thing! I love to vote. It's the only thing I can do that seems directly linked to having a voice (however miniscule it may be) in the government.
Voting is so important. Washington is a vote by mail state as well. I usually drive (or sometimes ride my bike) to the city hall drop box, just to make sure. Our mail goes all the way to Spokane before it gets postmarked, so that's an iffy thing.
I have voted in every single election since I turned 18, even the ones that are just primaries for local positions and aren't exciting. Voting is such a privilege and, I believe, an obligation of citizens of a thriving democracy. So thank you for doing your duty!
We vote whenever we get the chance to vote!!

ReplyDeleteIt's always a good day to vote! GO you!
ReplyDeleteYup - our ballots are on the way. We've voted by mail since the Pandemic, but we take our ballots to a drop box (I don't trust the mail).
