Joining Kat and Carole for Three on Thursday.
I spent two frustrating days in doctor's offices and hospitals this week, and took plenty of photos to go with the "Three Things I Dislike About Doctors" post I had written in my mind. On the way home I remembered my grandmother saying that nature and water were good ways to deal with day-to-day irritations so I stopped at a park to talk a walk with both water and nature. On a more positive note, here are "Three (Plus) Things I Enjoyed On My Walk".
There were interesting and beautiful ice formations,
Berries available for birds,
And lots of hemlock foliage and cones for deer, squirrels, and mice.
My grandmother was right; water and nature put things in perspective beautifully.
Head on over here to read more Three on Thursday posts.
Your grandmother sounds like a very wise woman and we need more wise women in this world. Great positive spin for this post.
ReplyDeleteBonny, what a positive post! And I bet it was a chore to be positive after all those frustrations. I think being out in nature is almost always uplifting, and I am glad you were wise enough to handle your frustrations, courtesy of your grandmother's guidance. Have a great Thursday!
ReplyDeleteI could almost hear my grandmother telling me to get out and take a walk when I drove past the park. It felt great to breathe fresh air, get moving, and get out of the grumpy mood I had put myself in!
DeleteGetting outside . . . always seems to help! Even after two days of medical frustration! XO
ReplyDeleteA walk outside is a good idea ... but I have that fear of falling thing right now :-( Glad I could tag along vicariously with you!
ReplyDeleteGreat post and a great reminder! Nature always tends to heal. Love the shot of the berries and also the one of the pine cones. I'm hoping the weekend will provide an opportunity for me to get out and walk.
ReplyDeleteYour grandmother and mine might have been like peas in a pod! What a lovely way to "deal."
ReplyDeleteI agree! Your grandmother was so smart - time outside is the best stress reliever ever!
ReplyDeleteYour grandmother sounds like she was a very wise woman. My grandmother used to give me the same advice. Right after the war she struggled with depression and her doctor told her to get outside, work in the garden or take a walk every day. She always said that his advice saved her life, so she passed it on to us. Your photos are beautiful, I especially like little hemlock pinecones!
ReplyDeleteThere is something magically calming about flowing water. Your photos are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI have to say, that last photo is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteA walk outside can do wonders for clearing the mind. Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteNature heals many things that is for sure. Running water (in nature - not as in broken pipes or leaky faucets) is so peaceful.
ReplyDeleteHope all is okay.
ReplyDeleteThose itty-bitty pinecones are so cute!!
I hope you are okay (always praying daily)! I love how you turned the attitude upside down. I try my best to do that, and sometimes it works :) I find myself worrying needlessly- wasting precious time!
ReplyDeleteNothing like a doctors office to increase your blood pressure. I had a hands on visual yesterday myself. (Just a physical.) Your Grandmother was right though...rarely does a return from an outside adventure leave you feeling worse! xo
ReplyDeleteBeing in nature is how I get though life! My father taught me how important nature is to a soul.
