Flora and Fauna

After telling you about spring snow and damaged and fallen trees yesterday, I don't want to leave you with the impression that the flora and fauna aren't thriving in Fort Collins. We had beautiful, perfect weather during our visit, and blooms (and bunnies) are everywhere.

I also delight in spotting all the flowers and animals painted on Fort Collins' cool utility boxes.

Ryan passes these chickens in hats and hamsters in wheels every day on his way to campus.

And Fort Collins even has colorful sheep. What a great place!

  1. What a brilliant idea to dress up utility boxes in such a lovely way! And, the blooms are gorgeous, especially the alliums!

  2. I LOVE it!!! Painting the utility boxes is just brilliant! Fort Collins has a wonderful botanic garden. Did you maybe visit there? (They have this incredible outdoor kitchen where they teach cooking lessons. I would LOVE to try that someday.)

  3. I love how they livened up and beautified those utility boxes! And that clematis is gorgeous, too.

  4. So much purple! (or is that "so many purples"?) and those utility boxes surely make everyone smile :-)

  5. I have a tenderness for street art, the more colorful the better. I think it brightens up the dullest of ordinary viewings. I am also amazed at the talented artists that grace the landscape and we don't know most of their names..

  7. Those boxes are fabulous! They are starting to do that here in Gardner where I work and it really makes things look great!

  8. Fort Collins has a true sense of what is important and what isn't! Few things in the west are bothered by spring snows (fruit blossoms being the exception) and the flora in FC is proof!
